Mimijumi Review

I admit that I am usually not a bottle fan at all. I dislike that most bottles out there are a breastfeeding Mama's worst nightmare when it comes to nipple confusion. Usually after a baby is given an ordinary bottle and then goes back to the breast the baby tries to use the bottle-feeding technique on the breast and has difficulty latching-on and sucking. Baby gets very frustrated, and so does mother. Nipple confusion can sometimes even lead to baby refusing the breast. This only pushes the mother even further to give up breastfeeding her baby and go to the unnatural act of formula feeding.

The Mimijumi Very Hungry Baby Bottle is so different from all others I have seen. I think it is the best yet. The Mimijumi company is made up of a team of designers, mothers, nurses, physicians and lactation specialists. The Mimijumi Very Hungry Baby Bottle is designed to mimic the look and feel of a mother's breast. The one-piece nipple screws on easily and is slightly angled on the bottle to make feeding easier and less formation of air bubbles. It also has a venting system to prevent colic. The snap-off cap it comes with protects the nipple from germs and dirt and leakage. The no-skid bottom helps make it possible to prepare the bottle with just one hand. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill...so less spillage of your precious "liquid gold". The nipple is made with the safest food and medical grade silicone and plastic. Both bottle and nipple are bisphenol-a (bpa) and latex free. They can be cleaned easily and sterilized using any traditional sterilizing method. You can sterilize by boiling them, using microwave sterilizing devices or alternatively they can be put on the top rack of the dishwasher.

I love that this bottle helps the baby to not have nipple confusion and when I do pump and use my Medela Breastmilk Labeling & Storage System to give my girls a break, this bottle filled with my breastmilk is the next best thing. However; this boob imposter will not take the place of my breasts anytime soon because I have the luxury of being a stay at home mom. Breastfeeding is best for my baby anyway!

Hello World Clothing SmartZip Sleeper Review and Giveaway

The Hello World SmartZip Sleeper helps diaper changes be an easier task. With its zipper that unzips at both ends it is great for dressing baby the conventional way and lets you change your little one without having to unzip the whole sleeper.

Comes in 2 colors currently: Blue Me Away and Made Me Blush. A third color: Olive You More is coming soon.

The sleepers are made from 100% interlock cotton. Since cotton is a natural fabric it breaths better than synthetic fibers and is soft against baby's skin. It is also machine washable and has a tag-less neck label so it doesn't irritate the baby. Made in Macau.

I found the 3 month size (which is supposed to be 0-3 months according to their chart) too big for Zari and pajamas should fit snugly. Maybe I should have requested the newborn size. I love the fact that the zipper has a snap flap so that the baby's chin is protected from the top zipper pull and it also has a fabric cover covering the bottom zipper pull so it won't be messed with by little fingers. I thought the non-skid footed bottoms were a nice touch even though she isn't going to be walking for months. The SmartZip Sleeper comes in sizes from newborn to 12 months. Zari will grow into this great sleeper and when she does it will be even more fabulous! She is so cute in it now :)

Dog is Good Review

Dog is Good is a great online store consisting of wonderful items for pets and pet lovers alike! The DIG line includes many items such as apparel, accessories, mugs, cards and stickers. They even have an awesome Dog-Only Water Bottle of which I had the pleasure of testing for free from them for my dog, Prince. As you can see from the picture he took to it well and enjoyed the cool refreshing drink of water especially when we were on the road on trips. I wish I had this for him when we went on our cross country memorial tour because his bowl of water kept on spilling onto the floor of our van while we were moving. This water bottle is so convenient to take on bike trips too if your dog is trained to run along side you...it is the perfect size to fit in a pack, waterbottle holder, and/or cup holder. It has two openings: one for easy cleaning and filling and a smaller one that has the ball bearing that controls the water flow when your doggie licks it (think hamster water bottle and you will be on the right track). You can also unscrew the whole top of the bottle to use a cup for your dog to drink out of on those extra thirsty days. This is great to keep around for the summer when your dog needs to stay hydrated the most! It's BPA-free made of stainless steel and holds up to 24 ounces of water. I received Tummy Talk and was pleasantly surprised to see how wonderfully made this keepsake book was. I chose the "This Little Pinky" color which is a mauve. I love the faux suede cover and little Swarovski crystal jewel that is placed in between the words and picture stamped on the front. It has pockets to place letters and other precious papers, places to put photos and write down items of importance from pregnancy cravings to prenatal checkup information. Photos will be well preserved because the pages are made from acid free and lignin free, heavy-weight paper. It is also well laid out with tabs to help separate the 5 main sections. I am excited to fill the 105 unique color pages with my thoughts, memories, and keepsakes for this pregnancy.

Canine Calm Review and Giveaway

Canine Calm is an aromatherapy misting spray that has calmed jittery dogs for 10 years. It is supposed to be for dogs that have problems with loud noises like fireworks or thunderstorms. It is also supposed to work for dogs that don't do well with travel, bath time, clinic or kennel visits, or other unsettling times. It is created by Vicki Rae Thorne, herbalist and certified aromatherapist and is recommended by groomers, trainers and veterinarians.

I received a free 2 fluid ounce spray bottle of it from Earth Heart, Inc., the company who it is made for. I thought I might give it a try on my large hyperactive dog. I thought it might work for his hyperactivity to calm him down a bit, but it really didn't do the trick for him. Prince didn't really seem calmer and I don't think he really liked the spray either. Maybe if Prince were nervous instead of hyperactive it would work better. Although when I tried spraying it on my hands and massaged Prince's ears and back he loved the attention he was getting :) The Canine Calm has pure essential oils of bergamot, tangerine, lavender, geranium, ylang ylang, and marjoram to make it smell really good and it did make Price and whatever I sprayed it on good smelling to me. It is also all natural, so shouldn't harm your dog if used as instructed.

Tot Yoga Review and Giveaway

Tot Yoga is a great DVD that is that features 23 practical, easy-to-learn warm ups and stretches, sitting and standing exercises for both parents and young children. These are great for beginners and advanced Yoga lovers alike. This wonderful DVD lets you bond with your toddler and have fun doing it. It is geared towards kids 10 months to 3 years. I love Yoga! I have been doing my prenatal Yoga in the mornings and Teela has been watching me and trying to do some of the moves. Not all Yoga is toddler friendly, however, and so this DVD provides the toddler friendly Yoga and some Yoga to do while your toddler is napping. Yoga is great to increase strength and flexibility, reduce stress and calm restlessness, improve fine motor development, increase confidence, improve concentration, and promote better sleep. Some of the moves in this DVD were a bit difficult for me because I am pregnant, but it was fun to do the poses with my daughter that I could do. Here Teela is doing a frog pose :)

I loved how it nourished and hydrated my skin. It is a great moisturizing lotion that leaves my skin feeling soft and smooth. I just wish I had more of it!

Coursing Around Review

Coursing Around is a great way to get your children active and off the couch. This awesome book comes with 15 fun filled outdoor sidewalk chalk activities to get your child moving. From jumping, skipping, hopping, running, and more! Create sidewalk chalk obstacle courses for your child to go through and learn: teamwork, increased motor skills, endurance, creativity, overall fitness level, social skills, listening skills, following directions, to share, to take turns, etc. Your younger children will also learn shapes, numbers, colors, and letters. This is a great homeschooling tool for recess and outdoor play! Just find a safe place outside to draw the courses and prepare for the fitness fun to begin!

My boys had a blast drawing with the chalk and doing the courses. They also loved making up their own courses and they got pretty creative. I like how this book kept my boys engaged in doing physical fitness and gets them outside. It is also very entertaining to watch the kids do these. Coursing Around is a great way to helping educate kids about the importance of staying active and keeping outdoor play alive in this day and age where TV and video games prevail.

CreativeBaby Inc. SoundBeginnings Review and Giveaway

SoundBeginnings by CreativeBaby Inc. is a band that you wear around your pregnant belly that allows you to place your audio player into a pocket that is located in the front and play music, voice, or sounds to your unborn child. The pocket has a cord you plug your mp3 or audio player into and then the pre-natal sound delivery device delivers the sound to speakers that are safe for baby to listen to while inside the womb. There is even a headphone splitter that is included so that you can listen along with baby. These bands come in three different colors and two different sizes to accommodate the expectant mother.

I chose and received a white one in size B for free to test and review from CreativeBaby Inc. I thought the fit was a bit snug especially since the baby is still growing inside of me, but it stretches since it is made of nylon/lycra and was still comfortable to wear. I don't know if I am going to be able to wear it later on in my pregnancy, but they do have a size bigger. I love the concept of the whole device because of all the benefits of good music to the baby-to-be and how easy it was to just plug in my player and play whatever I chose for baby to listen to. I love that it makes my audio player hands free so I can also listen to music on it while baby does and multitask on other projects. You can if you wish hide it under a slightly loose shirt so no one knows it is there and it is virtually undetectable depending on how your audio player is shaped. I have a Philips SA1110/37 1GB Flash Audio Player and it is not flat like an iPod so it sticks out and creates a lump inside the pocket. When I was playing music for my unborn baby and bonding I believe that baby-to-be liked it because I felt a lot of movement like baby was dancing :) If you are not expecting a new little one maybe you know someone that is. This would be a great pre-natal baby shower gift!

BlaBla Mermaid Dream Ring Review

BlaBla Kids do fair trade with Peruvian artisans who hand knit their designs. They sent me a Mermaid Dream Ring to review for free. The Mermaid Dream Ring is one of my favorite knitted pieces in their collection. It is made of 100% cotton. These Dream Rings are fairly new in their store and beautiful! I love the ocean and when my older kids had a nursery I would decorate their baby room with dolphins and ocean related things. Since I am expecting a new baby in October I thought the Mermaid Dream Ring would be perfect for the baby's nursery. It is a mobile that you can hang anywhere you please. I think it would look great either over the baby's bassinet, on the wall or in a window. It makes a great baby shower gift or even a gift for older kids. These remind me of dream catchers, a hand made hoop with a woven web or net that was first made by the Ojibwa (Chippewa) Native Americans to hang above their children's beds to capture nightmares. I think that the Blabla Kids Dream Ring's colorful and gorgeous craftsmanship would delight baby for hours and is a lovely reminder of sweet dreams.

1 Cute Pooch Review and Giveaway

1 Cute Pooch is a great pet product store that specializes in items for pets and pet owners. They have dog tags, dog clothes, sports apparel & collars, customized items, dog strollers, dog bowls, placemats & treat jars, beds & pet furniture, carriers & travel accessories and treats & supplements. They even have a Kitty Korner for cat lovers.

I received a Doggly Pet ID Tag from their store for free for reviewing and it was personalized with my information on the back so that when Prince gets lost someone will be able to know who's dog he is and be able to contact me. For the front of the tag I also got to pick out what color the background was, what letter of Prince's name they would do up with a cartoonish doggy font and what picture to use for the image of my dog, Prince. This tag is a spoof of the TV show, Glee, and although I have never seen the TV series I think it is a very cute tag. The tag is made of fiber reinforced plastic, a very hard and durable plastic that is protected by a UV resistant coating and is apparently scratch and break resistant too. It attaches to the pet's collar with a split ring. The tag came in the mail very fast and I love how it turned out!!

Lalo Treasures Review and Happy Birthday to Me

Lalo Treasures is the brand developed by Israeli designer Orna Lalo. Orna, a graduate in art and fashion design, has been creating her works of resin home accessories and jewelry for over 20 years. Bulgaria is where her inspiration and fascination of color and design flowed freely. This is why her pieces are individually hand crafted and assembled by women in the local villages surrounding Orna's factory in Bulgaria. I love that the pieces are very uniquely designed and make me smile every time I see them...which is exactly what Orna had in mind. Retail prices range from $30 up to $240.00.

Today it is my birthday! Happy Birthday to me :) I love fashion and whimsical things speak to me! I saw the Lalo Treasures store on ChicExecs and had to have a piece of her collections for my birthday. I didn't know which one they would send me so it was a surprise when it arrived.

I received a fairy keyring 4789 from the The birds & the Beads collection to review and see for myself. I luv how funky and colorful it is. These pieces are made wonderfully and Orna's artwork is so much fun! I wish all her pieces were available to the USA, but as I found by looking at the other international sites a lot of them are not. Most, however; are reasonably priced and you can change the currency on the website to something other than dollars if desired. I love all of the Ocean Tales collection and the Keyring L&F which has a cool striped pony.

They make beautiful silver jewelry that is hand stamped with names, initials, dates and my favorite, doodles!! I received a Mommy Tags necklace with the main Bebe (french for baby) Love/Heart tag, which represents a mother's love for her children, and all four of my child name tags stamped with each of my child's first names and dates of birth on them. They were so very generous and offered to do all of this for free for me to test and review their product. When I received the Mommy Tags they were in a small ziplock bag with anti-tarnish strip and packaged in a nice reusable tin. The very cute label on the tin is made from a corn based material called EarthFirst PLA, a renewable resource that is grown here in the USA. The tags are beautiful and I know that I am going to cherish this necklace always and wear it often! I think I am going to make them a beaded necklace to separate them out more so they will hang where you can see all of them at once. I was having fun with this photo shoot as you can see :) I laid down on my new ottoman and my son took this picture from above.

My other very favorite product on Mommy Tags is the Doodle Tags! I haven't done one yet, but I think one may be in my future!! It will definitely go on my wish list! Not only is this a very unique personalization of your child's scribble or drawing, but it also comes with a wood mounted rubber stamp of the artwork along with a black stamp pad to use for stamping your own note cards, scrapbooking or t-shirts. I love this concept!!

They are a family oriented company that loves children and even has a playroom for the children of the workers and customers who visit the workshop can play. They use only leathers which are processed formaldehyde free and meet the highest safety standards both for their customers, and for the environment. As little ones like to occasionally chew on the shoes, it is important to Soft Star that they are as chemical-free as possible. Soft Star shoes are handcrafted in Oregon, USA using local materials. They reuse, recycle and reduce whenever possible. Production scraps are sorted and reused or recycled into craft projects. Also 100% of their power usage comes from solar or wind energy. Seconds or gently worn shoes are donated to children in need. Soft Star also gives to Waldorf and Montessori schools through their back-to-school discounts and promotions. This company is awesome! Their eco-friendly and family friendly atmosphere and practices gets a huge A+ from me! You can also design your own shoes if you really don't see any that you like in their online store. You can choose your own: color of the leather, style of shoe, motif, type of closure, width and size of footwear of your very own.

I found something I really liked though for my daughter, Teela, so designing a pair of her own shoes might be something I do later. I picked out some Laguna Sandals Playa in Pink in size 7 toddler for her and they are so adorable! The Soft Star company sent them to me for free to test and review. The sandals have soft rubber soles that will flex with her feet and are sturdy and slip resistant too. They have a color guide that matches their colors with crayon color names and this soft pink leather is the same color as the Mauvelous color crayon. I love the flower cutout and hot pink elastic closer on this sandal. The elastic ankle helps Teela be able to put the sandal on herself and pull them off as well. For safety the toe openings are smaller so that feet won't slip through the front of the shoe. My Teela loves them too! She wanted to wear them all day long and since all Soft Star shoes breathe well and are similar to just going barefoot, I let her :)

I received their Ballerina Leather shoes in Plum for free to test and review for my daughter, Teela. It just so happened that I had a perfect little dress to go with them for her to also model...one that my daughter, Tatiana, had worn to my sisters wedding when she was younger. I love these little shoes! They are darling and the craftsmanship is excellent! As you can see Teela loves them as well. When she was standing she was trying out her curtsy and when she was sitting she was playing peek-a-boo shoes under her dress :) She also likes how shiny they are.

MY THOUGHTS:
Oh Plah! is yet another great teething bracelet that I have just come across. I received the pink Simplicity one for free from Roundhouse to test and review. These are different from the previous teething bracelets that I have reviewed from other companies. These are more of a cuff style bracelet...not a bangle design. I love that these are dual purpose and double as a great fashion accessory and teether for baby or tot. My youngest daughter, Teela, loves chewing on it and she thinks it is very fashionable as well :) They are safe and made of eco-friendly recyclable material. Roundhouse Design practices a closed loop cycle with it’s Full Circle Recycling program: When it's time, Roundhouse will pay to have your Oh Plah! shipped back to have it recycled into new products. These are the perfect stocking stuffers!!

Boogie Wipes Review and Giveaway

MY THOUGHTS:
My daughter, Teela, had a yucky nose recently and thankfully I had these little gems around! The cleanup was painless, I didn't have to chase her around the house with a dry tissue (Teela's toddler legs can move fast if they are motivated to!), and she didn't throw a tantrum getting her nose wiped. My son Jaedan is known to have allergies and was sneezing one day so I handed him a Boogie Wipe he blew his nose in it and I got this picture :)

I received a 30 count resealable flex pack with flip top lid in Great Grape and Magic Menthol. I also received 10 individually wrapped 'Boogies on the Run' wipes in Fresh Scent for backpacks, lunchboxes, or purses. These are great for on the go!

The Great Grape smell was pleasant and my kids loved these wipes the best. I love the Magic Menthol smell (that is actually comprised of Eucalyptus and Rosemary) the best and it is especially wonderful for clearing sinuses and stuffiness. The Fresh Scent smells like flowers. I kind of wish they had one without a scent because people that are sensitive to fragrance might have troubles with these especially because they are held to your nose.

The Boogie Moms, Mindee & Julie, are two awesome ladies from Portland, Oregon who came up with Boogie Wipes. (Little did I know that their Little Busy Bodies, Inc office is just an hour and 10 minutes from me! Small world indeed!) They have made cold and allergy season so much more tolerable!

So, I have to ask...Who here wants to hold down little ones while trying to: wipe their horribly chapped nose with a dry tissue, spritz up their nose with saline spray, and bulb out their nose? I sure don't! It is a tantrum waiting to happen! Say no to the dry tissues, nose bulbs, and saline spray! The Boogie Moms have made a better product! The saline wipes are perfect because they don't dry out little noses. They leave them moisturized instead of chapped and the saline infused in the wipes dissolves the icky boogie goo off your child's face! Need I say more? I don't think so!
