My #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate Party and a Chance to Win a Dream Walt Disney World Resort Vacation for Your Little Ones!

I received free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

I was so worried that no one at all would show to our #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate Party that I scheduled on Saturday March 19, 2016. The schools out here were having Spring Break the week after and I didn't think that scheduling it on the 26th would be any better because of Easter being on the Sunday after. I was so nervous that no one would show up at all because of people being out of town for vacation to visit family and friends.

Teela, Joey, and Zari at the party.

We had one little girl show! I am so happy someone did! My older son's best friend has a little sister, named Joey, that was invited by my girls and he saw the invitation when he was over at their house visiting his friend. He took it upon himself to email the family before the party and ask if she was coming. The parents I guess didn't put two and two together that it was us that was throwing the party. So, naturally after he asked they said yes. Thanks to my son, Jaedan, the party went on. We put up the decorations and prepared the food. Then we partied! We had so much fun showing our #DisneySide!

#DisneyKids Preschool Playdate Party Food

The food turned out to be a big hit. I made 24 Mickey Cone Cakes the night before to frost with chocolate icing and have two round dark chocolate melts put on the top like Mickey ears. These were quite fun to make and the kids enjoyed them too. I also provided a veggie tray with onion dip that I mixed up for something healthy. The Sofia's Seashell Mac and Cheese turned out well too. I also had Teela help make the Disney Peanut Butter & Jelly Pinwheel Skewers. Instead of Mickey dimensional stickers ours had Disney Fairies puffy stickers on them. To drink we purchased some Donald Duck orange juice and also had the Nestle Nesquik Chocolate Flavored Drink Powder that came in the kit to mix with milk if they wanted that instead.

Disney Craft with Tulip Puffy Confetti Glitter Paints

We played some games and made a craft after we ate. We played the Pin the Smile On Mickey Game and
made puppets with the I Love To Create Live On Stage! Puppet Show Kit (paper bags, Disney Junior Puppet Print-Outs, Alene's Tacky Glue, 3 Tulip Puffy Confetti Glitter Paints). Although, everyone making one wanted to be Sofia the First, so the puppet show didn't really take off. Oh well.

Pin the smile on Mickey Mouse

The time came when our guest had to go home. I gave Joey her gift bag full of goodies to take home and remember the party by. I also handed out an HP Photo Card Pack to the parents that I had left over from an old #DisneySide party pack and told them about MyPrintly, a HP website where you can create DIY projects and print them to share. We also talked about Disney Parks and why we love them so much! They shared with me that Joey had gone to Disney World last year when she was 4 years old and she enjoyed it so much.

Fun with Disney Lion Guard Tatoos and Disney Parks Posters.

My daughter Zari didn't want the party to end and was sad. I promised her we would go outside and play on the play set and continue the celebration even though Joey had to go home. So we did and as soon as we got back inside I had Teela and Zari pick a Disney The Lion Guard Fake Tattoo and we placed them. We did a few more games together and called it a very successful day.

Playground fun Disney style!

The #DisneyKids Preschool Playdate Party turned out to be a hit! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you Disney Parks for giving me the opportunity to do another Disney party! Also thanks to the other sponsors: HP, Banfield Pet Hospital, Glad, Nestle, All, and I Love To Create!

Disney Mickey & Friends Go Green! Book Review

I received the book, Disney Mickey & Friends Go Green!, free to facilitate this review. Affiliate links may be in this posting. Thanks for supporting my blog.

Go Green is the first in a series of books by Disney that motivates families to live sustainably and more eco-friendly. This book is filled with fun projects that families can do together while teaching about making good choices to help save the planet and live a healthy life. It often made us pause to connect with the outdoors, ourselves and others. Mickey & Friends educate kids about what they can do to make a difference one step at a time.

Nature Mandalas

This book is a wonderful wealth of information for younger children. It is also a great homeschool tool and a wonderful book for Earth Day! My girls who are 4 and 7 loved looking through the book and doing the activities with me. Their favorite activity from the book was on page 67, making mandalas. If you don't know, a mandala is a symbol in Hinduism and Buddhism representing the universe. The word comes from Sanskrit meaning "circle". Nature Mandalas are fun to make with found objects in nature. Teela and Zari loved finding and then arranging the flowers, pine cones, small rocks, seeds, sticks, walnut shells, acorns, leaves, etc. in a circular pattern on our sidewalk in front of our house. If you live near the ocean you could also do this after you combed the beach for treasures like: driftwood, sea glass, shells, seaweed, etc. This repurposes natural things to become a beautiful work of art. I loved that the book also talks about the three R's - reduce, reuse/repurpose, and recycle, planting a garden and composting too. I believe that the secret to good nutrition and other good habits is to start teaching children good things at a young age. The Disney Mickey & Friends Go Green! book is a great start to get your child thinking about how to make the world a better place.

My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party

I received free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

We had our second #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party on February 21th, 2015. We planned and prepped and finally it was the day. We put up the decorations and prepared the food. Then we partied! We had so much fun showing our #DisneySide!

#DisneySide Costume Party. We have a lot of Disney Fairies and two Disney Princesses. Show me your Goofy Faces!

We had a #DisneySide Themed Valentine's costume party. We had some really adorable Disney Fairies show up, plus an Anna and Elsa. We love playing dress up! Each girl also brought Disney themed Valentine's Cards that we exchanged.

Pin the Smile on Minnie Mouse.

The first game we played was a "Pin The Smile on Minnie Mouse" Game. I made the detachable bow freehand last year from a piece of cardboard and paint I had lying around the house. This year they provided a large poster for "Pin the Smile" on Mickey Mouse, but we wanted to make it Minnie instead. I used the bow from last year and my son, Jaedan, painted on eyelashes with a black sharpie. This game was a guest favorite. The kids wanted to play to get their turn at pinning the smile on Minnie Mouse over and over again. I am so glad they liked it so much. Then we did a Disney Character word find/search.

Disney Character Word Search.

#DisneySide Party Food and Drink.

We had some very yummy party food and drinks that I made for the celebration. I made the Duff Goldman Tie Dye Cake in the Wilton Mickey Mouse cake pan that was provided this year. We also made Mickey Mouse and Valentine's cutout sugar cookies to decorate with the frosting and sprinkles and displayed them on the cupcake stand that was provided. A veggie platter and pretzels to dip in onion dip made everything a little more healthy. I picked up some Donald Duck Orange Juice and some Disney Fairies and Princesses Fruit Snacks from the store to show our #DisneySide.

Cookie decorating fun sprinkled with love and pixie dust.

We had so much fun decorating the cutout sugar cookies! They were each sprinkled with love and pixie dust (sprinkles). The cookies turned out to be all Mickey Mousterpieces and even better to eat!

Disney Princess Nail Salon.

We also had a Disney Princess nail salon where we painted each girls nails. The parents that stayed helped with the nail salon. The little girls had a lot of fun picking out the colors they wanted and some even got alternating colors and fancy patterns.

#DisneySide Party Grand Prize Winner, Lilliana.

While they waited for their nails to dry I handed out the last of the take home prizes and gift bags to the guests. I picked a name for the grand prize, the Disney Palace Pet, and made a little girls day because she had apparently never won anything before. I also told the parents about the HP Photo Card Packs and MyPrintly, a HP website where you can create DIY projects and print them to share. We also talked about Disney Parks and why we love them so much!

The #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party turned out to be a hit! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you Disney Parks for giving me the opportunity to do this again! Also thanks to the other sponsors: HP, Twinings Tea, Soy Vay, Beyond Meat, Duff Goldman, Wilton, All, Wisk, and Crayola.

My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party

I received free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

We had our very first #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party on February 15th, 2014. We planned and prepped and finally it was the day. We put up the decorations and prepared the food. Then we partied! We had so much fun showing our #DisneySide!

#DisneySide Costume Party
We had a #DisneySide Themed costume party. We had some really adorable Disney Princesses show up. We love playing dressup!

Teela playing the Pin The Bow on Minnie Mouse Game
The first game we played was a Pin The Bow on Minnie Mouse Game. I made this from a piece of cardboard and paint I had lying around the house. I just traced a large bowl for the face and the top of a 40 oz soda cup for the ears. Then I made the detachable bow freehand, painted it red, let the red dry, then painted the polka-dots with the opposite end of the small paintbrush I was using.

This game was a guest favorite. The kids wanted to play to get their turn at pinning the bow on Minnie Mouse over and over again. I am so glad they liked it so much.

#DisneySide Bingo: Teela and Delbin
Then we played #DisneySide Bingo. I had the younger kids pair up with an older kid so that they could help them with the reading and finding of the correct pictures. Everybody won a prize to take home.

#DisneySide Bingo: A few of our guest players
Here are some more players of the #DisneySide Bingo having a Goofy time :)

#DisneySide @Home Celebration Party Food
We had some very yummy party food and drinks that I made for the celebration. We had: Hot Diggity Dogs, Mickey Mouse Shaped Finger Sandwiches,  Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Muffins, red Jello, and Kiwi Strawberry Soda. It was all very yummy.

I did make the mistake of not cutting the water in half for the jello so it didn't set up enough for cutting it out into shapes like I wanted. I wanted to make Jello Jigglers in the Mickey Mouse cookie cutter shapes. I will know next time to cut the water in half so it won't be as watery.

At the end I handed out the last of the take home prizes to the guests and also told the parents about the HP Photo Card Packs and TwoSmiles, a HP website where you can print-at-home personalized greeting cards with gift cards in them. We also talked about Disney Parks and why we love them so much!

The #DisneySide @Home Celebration Party turned out to be a hit! Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely. Thank you Disney Parks for giving me the opportunity to do this!

#DisneySide Flashback

A few days ago I unearthed these pictures of me showing my #DisneySide as a child. I love going through photos that I haven't seen in a while and reminiscing about my childhood with my own children. These pictures bring back so many good memories. I love looking back and remembering the details that I've forgotten.

Me with my Minnie Mouse Ears on from Disney Land, sitting with my Papa.

My little sister, Melody, and I with our Mickey Mouse t-shirts playing in our box fort.

My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Kit Arrival & Unveil

Show Your Disney Side

I received free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

Here is the moment of truth. My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Kit made the journey to my home safely and the moment to unveil the contents has finally arrived! Are you as excited as I am!!?? My girls couldn't really contain themselves either.

My girls, Teela and Zari waiting patiently for the opening of our #DisneySide Kit
As soon as we opened the large box that the kit came in we found some gorgeous "Wood Violet" colored American Tourister (official luggage of Walt Disney World & Disneyland) 21" DeLite Spinner luggage that held the contents of the kit. When I applied to be a host I was asked what color I would like. It was a very hard choice of getting this color or one in blue, but I finally settled on this because it is so much easier to spot in a sea of luggage on the baggage claim.

American Tourister 21" DeLite Spinner has some great features! It sits upright without any issues of falling over, even when it is full. You can wheel it around by its smooth dual spinner wheels and telescopic aluminum handle or carry/lift it by the top, bottom or side handles. The outside is made of a durable polyester shell with two zippered compartments on the front and a full zippered closure that opens the whole suitcase up with an expansion zipper available to make it even more roomy. The large interior holds quite a lot and has multiple pockets to keep one organized. Inside it also has a zippered pouch to hold items that might leak or are wet and above that has a mesh zippered pocket for other items. On the inside on the opposite side of those pockets a set of adjustable straps are available to hold clothing in place. On the back it even has a built in luggage tag place so that there will be no doubt whose luggage it is. I think that this little suitcase on wheels will make my travels so much easier in the airports or terminals.

My gorgeous "Wood Violet" colored luggage from American Tourister that housed the kit inside.
As I opened the luggage I was overwhelmed at how much awesome stuff they threw in! My girls squealed in delight and jumped up and down. Showing My #DisneySide

I will receive free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

While I was away on vacation in Nevada and Utah to see my sisters and watch my youngest sis get married I got a very special email. This email told me that out of thousands of applicants I had been picked to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration!

I can not wait to get my box of host and party goodies! They told me I would be getting party favors, decorations, games, activities, recipe ideas and special hostess gifts. I am so very excited!! I have made a Pinterest board to collect ideas for the occasion. I want to show you all my #DisneySide by giving you sneak peaks here and there of what I am possibly planning. Also, Spoonful.com also has some wonderful Disney Themed Party ideas that I may incorporate. This will be the first installment of posts on this blog about my Disney Side @Home Celebration.

I love Disney! My very first time at a Disney Park I was only 4, but I remember the excitement and thrill of going to Disney Land. My Grandma Cryer bought me some Minnie Mouse ears and I still have them tucked away in my memory box. My middle sister also won a trip to Disney Land, Hollywood and Universal Studios in Cali for the whole family for answering a question about a TV series we watched all the time on the Disney Channel called, Tale Spin. I was about 9 years old and I remember bringing my pink and white polka dotted jumper to wear to the park because it reminded me of Minnie Mouse. As a teen I remember my favorite part of the mall where I lived in Utah was the Disney Store. It just seemed magical every time I stepped in to it.

My boys in their Mickey Mouse outfits and Tatiana at Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida
Many of you don't know, but we used to live in Orlando Florida when my boys were little and Tatiana was still with us. My boys and my daughter Tatiana had some great Disney experiences while we lived in Florida. We loved the Disney Parks, especially the water parks, and made frequent visits to Downtown Disney as well.

Tatiana and I with Minnie Mouse at a CITE Christmas Party in Orlando Florida
Mickey and Minnie Mouse frequently showed up at parties that we were invited to. We had so much fin eating cake and getting little Mickey Mouse stuffed toys from Santa at this Christmas party we went to at the Lighthouse of Central Florida/CITE for the blind. I am holding Tatiana and if you look closely you can see my curly headed boys eating their cake in the background :)

Tatiana with her favorite rattle toy: Minnie Mouse
My daughter Tatiana who was blind loved a particular Minnie Mouse rattle that one of her therapists gave her. It was her absolute favorite toy because she loved to mouth it and manipulate the rattling flowers, butterflies, and hearts that spun around on it.
