Ellóre Femme Hair Chalk Review and Savings Offer

Ellóre Femme Hair Chalk Sticks
We received products free from Ellóre Femme and US Family Guide to facilitate this review.

Ellóre Femme Hair Chalk is a really fun product to use to add a little pizazz to your hair. It comes with a box of 24 vibrant colors of hair chalk. The hair chalk works best when applied to wet or damp hair and you can set the color with the heat of a hair straightener or curling iron to make it last throughout the day. It is a good idea to use some throw away gloves unless you like colored hands. However; this product does wash off of clothing and skin fairly easily so there is really no need to worry if you get a bit on a favorite blouse (chalk dust might migrate to your clothes). You also want to make sure to not inhale the chalk powder, since it can cause respiratory problems. When applying the color the chalk sticks might break into pieces that are smaller, but still useable. It might also break during transport or because of temperature changes. The color washes out of your hair easily with some shampoo and conditioner. These chalk sticks are non-toxic and made of natural plant pigments.

Ellóre Femme Hair Chalk Magenta color stick.
I love being unique and am a bit of an eccentric, hence the name of my blog :) I love to add a little spice here and there to my ensemble and my hair is one thing that is so much fun to do something different with. I used the magenta colored stick of hair chalk to get the above desired effect for my hair. Since I have dark brown hair with reddish highlights, the magenta color chalk stick was perfect to blend into my hair. I wanted it to accentuate my face so I only did my hair haloing my features. This whole application didn't take that long at all, but if you wanted something more involved that takes more colors you might want to set aside some time to get the effect you want. You will also use a fair amount of the chalk stick especially for more complicated hair colorations like ombre or the dip-dyed look. I love the Ellóre Femme Hair Chalk! It is so fun to make my hair (or my girls' hair) unique shades. Ever since I did my hair my girls, Zari and Teela, have been wanting me to do theirs in shades of purple and pink. My son, Jaedan even wants me to do his in a spiky flame or a volcanic eruption hair style. You can definitely be pretty imaginative with these. Unleash your creativity.

I got to download the Sand and Water “Sensory” Table Task Cards and More by The Fun Factory for this review for free. These activities encourage imagination, observation, exploration, discovery, higher level thinking, problem-solving skills, building vocabulary, scaffolding learning, and small motor building. Retail price of $5 and 25 pages are included.

When Tatiana was still with us we received the Sand & Water Table we have now from a wonderful donor and now good friend of ours. Because Tatiana was blind she needed sensory activities to desensitize her of less desirable touch sensations: like gooey, sandy, or wet things. She was a bit tactally hypersensitive, but finally got to love bath time, eating yogurt, and the beach. It was a process of trial and error with the Sensory Table, but we are so very glad we had it to help her. I also made up a website of activities for totally blind babies, toddlers, and children while she was still alive to share what things worked well for my daughter.

The activities and ideas in the Sand and Water “Sensory” Table Task Cards and More are great to help you think of more ways than just water and sand to use with the "Sensory" Table. Some of the activity cards are categorized according to season, holiday or theme. I love themed activities and think that they are wonderful in teaching because they make learning more fun. These cards can be easily printed onto card stock and laminated for use over and over again with the table. We loved the hands-on ideas of filling the table with things to find and match with words or letter. The table could be used much like one of those eye spy games. We also loved the ideas of using small brooms/dustpans and mops so the littles can clean up their own messes when they are made. They also had ideas on what to use if you don't have a commercial sensory table. My kids love playing with the sand & water sensory table. It is great because you can use it so many ways. It is so versatile. You can also use it both indoors and outdoors too. I can't wait when the weather gets nice so that I can fully incorporate these into my homeschool lessons!

My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Kit Arrival & Unveil

Show Your Disney Side

I received free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

Here is the moment of truth. My #DisneySide @Home Celebration Kit made the journey to my home safely and the moment to unveil the contents has finally arrived! Are you as excited as I am!!?? My girls couldn't really contain themselves either.

My girls, Teela and Zari waiting patiently for the opening of our #DisneySide Kit
As soon as we opened the large box that the kit came in we found some gorgeous "Wood Violet" colored American Tourister (official luggage of Walt Disney World & Disneyland) 21" DeLite Spinner luggage that held the contents of the kit. When I applied to be a host I was asked what color I would like. It was a very hard choice of getting this color or one in blue, but I finally settled on this because it is so much easier to spot in a sea of luggage on the baggage claim.

American Tourister 21" DeLite Spinner has some great features! It sits upright without any issues of falling over, even when it is full. You can wheel it around by its smooth dual spinner wheels and telescopic aluminum handle or carry/lift it by the top, bottom or side handles. The outside is made of a durable polyester shell with two zippered compartments on the front and a full zippered closure that opens the whole suitcase up with an expansion zipper available to make it even more roomy. The large interior holds quite a lot and has multiple pockets to keep one organized. Inside it also has a zippered pouch to hold items that might leak or are wet and above that has a mesh zippered pocket for other items. On the inside on the opposite side of those pockets a set of adjustable straps are available to hold clothing in place. On the back it even has a built in luggage tag place so that there will be no doubt whose luggage it is. I think that this little suitcase on wheels will make my travels so much easier in the airports or terminals.

My gorgeous "Wood Violet" colored luggage from American Tourister that housed the kit inside.
As I opened the luggage I was overwhelmed at how much awesome stuff they threw in! My girls squealed in delight and jumped up and down. We are certainly going to put it all to good use in the party planning. I am so excited to use the cookie cutters! I have so many ideas to use them for. I can't wait for my party! It is going to be GRAND!

Showing My #DisneySide

I will receive free products to facilitate my party from Disney Parks and MomSelect. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this post.

While I was away on vacation in Nevada and Utah to see my sisters and watch my youngest sis get married I got a very special email. This email told me that out of thousands of applicants I had been picked to host a Disney Side @Home Celebration!

I can not wait to get my box of host and party goodies! They told me I would be getting party favors, decorations, games, activities, recipe ideas and special hostess gifts. I am so very excited!! I have made a Pinterest board to collect ideas for the occasion. I want to show you all my #DisneySide by giving you sneak peaks here and there of what I am possibly planning. Also, Spoonful.com also has some wonderful Disney Themed Party ideas that I may incorporate. This will be the first installment of posts on this blog about my Disney Side @Home Celebration.

I love Disney! My very first time at a Disney Park I was only 4, but I remember the excitement and thrill of going to Disney Land. My Grandma Cryer bought me some Minnie Mouse ears and I still have them tucked away in my memory box. My middle sister also won a trip to Disney Land, Hollywood and Universal Studios in Cali for the whole family for answering a question about a TV series we watched all the time on the Disney Channel called, Tale Spin. I was about 9 years old and I remember bringing my pink and white polka dotted jumper to wear to the park because it reminded me of Minnie Mouse. As a teen I remember my favorite part of the mall where I lived in Utah was the Disney Store. It just seemed magical every time I stepped in to it.

My boys in their Mickey Mouse outfits and Tatiana at Downtown Disney in Orlando Florida
Many of you don't know, but we used to live in Orlando Florida when my boys were little and Tatiana was still with us. My boys and my daughter Tatiana had some great Disney experiences while we lived in Florida. We loved the Disney Parks, especially the water parks, and made frequent visits to Downtown Disney as well.

Tatiana and I with Minnie Mouse at a CITE Christmas Party in Orlando Florida
Mickey and Minnie Mouse frequently showed up at parties that we were invited to. We had so much fin eating cake and getting little Mickey Mouse stuffed toys from Santa at this Christmas party we went to at the Lighthouse of Central Florida/CITE for the blind. I am holding Tatiana and if you look closely you can see my curly headed boys eating their cake in the background :)

Tatiana with her favorite rattle toy: Minnie Mouse
My daughter Tatiana who was blind loved a particular Minnie Mouse rattle that one of her therapists gave her. It was her absolute favorite toy because she loved to mouth it and manipulate the rattling flowers, butterflies, and hearts that spun around on it.

You can also celebrate by Showing your Disney Side! You can share and upload photos or videos of your #DisneySide with everyone and see what others have shared on DisneySide.com. You can also plan your trip to Walt Disney World or Disney Land and take a fun quiz to reveal your #DisneySide.

We can't wait for the our party pack to get here. In the meantime, we will be getting all kinds of awesome ideas together and planning for the celebration. Stay tuned for more posts.

Airborne Gummies Review

I received this free sample courtesy of Smiley360 to facilitate my review.

I tried the all new Airborne Gummies. Airborne supports your immune system*. They have a great source of vitamin c (1000 mg) plus 9 other vitamins minerals and herbs. They are assorted fruit flavors (citrus, mixed berry, and grapefruit - naturally and artificially flavored) and comes in a bottle with 21 gummies in it. Has both Vitamins C and E for antioxidant properties. Has Selenium, a component to help with increasing antioxidants. It also has 35 mg of herbal blend including Echinacea and ginger. 3 gummies is a serving size, for children 12-13 years old: no more than twice a day and 14 years and older: no more than 3 times a day. Gluten free. These also come in a larger 42 count size and Kids Gummies, which are specially formulated for younger kids.

These taste really good but have a coating of sugar on the outside which I thought was not necessary. My older kids liked the taste as well. They were gummy and chewy. My favorite of the three flavors is the grapefruit.

Price is around $7.49 (21 ct) and $14.99 (42 ct): during time of post.

The Lone Ranger Blu-ray Combo Pack Review

We received this product free to facilitate this review.

The Lone Ranger has come to Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD and On-Demand December 17th! Loaded with great gun fights, train scenes, and explosions; this cowboy tale gets a new makeover by Disney, Jerry Bruckheimer Films and Director Gore Verbinski. Actors Johnny Depp and Armie Hammer take the lead roles of Tonto and The Lone Ranger in this version.

This Lone Ranger movie tells how Tonto and The Lone Ranger first meet. I never really knew this story myself having never watched the original TV series or read the books, but from what I could tell by reading about the series and characters on Wikipedia this version follows the story line pretty well. I watched a couple of the old TV series in the black and white version to get more of a perspective for my review also.

The actors sure do put their stamp on this film. If you are a fan of Johnny Depp you are sure to love this movie. Johnny Depp certainly adds depth of character and humor to his version of Tonto. The interesting crow hat and face paint are very unique to this Tonto too. Armie Hammer does a very good Lone Ranger. He wears the legendary mask well. His skills on horseback and with a gun are fairly impressive since he had little to no experience previous to his training for this film.

The special effects, music and scenery are awesome! I love the trains and track they built completely from scratch for the movie. You wouldn't be able to get the fantastic authentic feel with just CGI. The also create very authentic looking Comanche Indian teepees for the film. The wardrobes are very nice. I love the music in this! It has some of the original greats from the TV series along with others. You also get to see some gorgeous parts of New Mexico, Utah, Colorado and Arizona.

I loved The Lone Ranger movie! It was very good in my opinion despite all the negative things I had heard about it from others. I thought the humor was refreshing. I loved the actors performance and portrayal of the characters. The action and excitement was great!

Bonus Features: (BD, DVD, Select Digital retailers)
  • Blooper Reel (RT 4:12) – BD, DVD & Select Digital Retailers Only
  • Deleted Scene - BD & Select Digital Retailers Only
  • Riding The Rails Of The Lone Ranger (RT: 10:36) – BD & Select Digital Retailers Only For the production of the movie, director Gore Verbinski had a five mile oval track built along with multiple engines and cars. See the incredible effort that went into crafting such a detailed and important part of The Lone Ranger.
  • Armies’s Western Road Trip (RT: 14:28) – BD & Select Digital Retailers Only Armie Hammer (The Lone Ranger) takes viewers on a tour of the scenic locations the production shot in as we see and learn more about the amazing places he went to become The Lone Ranger.
  • Becoming A Cowboy (RT: 8:02) – BD & Select Digital Retailers Only Before the cast began shooting the film, they had to learn how to shoot a gun…and ride a horse. In this piece we follow the cowboy (and cowgirl) cast to boot camp, where they got a chance to experience what their characters would really be living like in the Wild West.
Ratings: PG-13 For Sequences Of Intense Action and Violence, and Some Suggestive Material

Kroger Skillet Meals Review #GotItFree

We received coupons for free product to facilitate this review.

There are so many days that we are just super busy and after it's all said and done we only have minutes to make a meal for our family. Enter Kroger Skillet Meals, which are easy to make meals that are ready in just ten minutes! They contain at least two servings per bag and contain 20 grams or more of protein! These are found at all Kroger Family Stores (including Fred Meyer, Baker's, City Market, Dillons, Food4Less, King Soopers, Smith’s, PayLess, etc.) and come in the frozen section of the store. These come in a variety of authentic Italian flavors including NEW Tuscan-Style Penne, Sausage Rigatoni, Penne with Grilled Chicken and many more! They also are available in delicious NEW Asian and Mexican varieties like Shrimp Lo Mein or Chicken Fajitas. You can create a complete meal when you add your favorite sides to go with it, such as Kroger Garlic Bread, and Fresh Selections Salad Kits.

Because I am a member of BzzAgent I received word of the BzzCampaign for the Kroger Skillet Meals. I received a free coupon for one Kroger Skillet Meal, a Kroger Garlic Bread, and a Fresh Selections Salad Kit to facilitate this review. We went to our local Fred Meyer to get this. We got the Tuscan-Style Penne. It was very yummy, but with a family of 6 the pasta meal just wasn't too practical unless you also made something else to go with it. We loved the pasta with garlic sauce, asparagus, sun-dried tomatoes, and big chunks of chicken. It was easy to prepare and fast. Just place it in a skillet and simmer together. This meal was very yummy, but it was gone too quick. One bag only really is supposed to make 2 servings. I was wanting more because it was so good.

We also got the garlic bread and salad kit to go with it. The bread and the salad were a good pairing and went well with the meal. The garlic bread is also easy to make, just pop it in the oven bag and all for a bit to warm it up. I love garlic bread, but this was not as garlicky or crunchy as I would have liked. I usually over garlic my dishes because I love garlic. Maybe if I would have taken it out of the bag and let it brown in the oven a bit more it would have been better. You have to admit the convenience of not having to wash another pan is nice though. We picked the Field Greens salad because, from looking, it had the most dark leafy veggies in the mix. This Fresh Selections Salad had romaine lettuce, endive, carrots, and radicchio. As salads go it was just OK, but it did give the plate a lovely garnished look.

Braun Forehead Thermometer Review #BraunTherms #Influenster #Braunvoxbox

I received this product complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes.

The Braun Forehead Thermometer is so easy to use. I don't have to struggle to get a accurate reading anymore with my kids. This gets the temperature in seconds, just swipe it down the temple of the forehead and back, then wait for the beep. You might have to swipe a few times to get the hang of it. I love that it has a color code for a fever guide: green which is in the normal range and no fever detected, yellow indicates a mild fever and red suggests a fever is present. The large screen is also back-lit which is nice for when it is in a darker room. This thermometer reads the temperature of the skin surface over the temporal artery and provides a more accurate measurement than under the tongue or armpit. You also do not have to have probe covers for this, so no extra cost except batteries every now and then. It comes with a protective cap and 2 alkaline AAA batteries. It is safe and hygienic. This is recommended for everyone.
