Butterfly Box is a monthly subscription service for Christian women that helps you grow spiritually and get closer to God. Each box has 4-6 hand-selected curated items that have a overall theme. Boxes could include things like inspiring books, devotionals or journals, Christian jewelry, scripture decor or artwork, faith sharing cards, self-care pampering items (soaps, lotion, candles, tea, etc.), and other theme related gifts. These products are faith-based or support small Christian businesses.

My Thoughts:

I received the September Butterfly Box which is Woman of Prayer themed. This was a lovely light blue colored box with the Butterfly Box logo, a shortened version of the scripture Romans 12:2, and website link on it. Inside were some hand picked items that were various shades of blue and some Tea Drops.

Inside this Butterfly Box: 

• A book: The Power of a Praying Woman by Stormie Omartian - this devotional book has a turquoise embossed faux leather cover and a ribbon bookmark. In this book Stormie shares her most-loved prayers for women.
  
• A journal: 'Be Still and Know' on the cover, ocean themed, spiral-bound with 192 lined pages to write in, and a presentation page in the front for gifting. Perfect for recording your own prayers, testimonies, and devotions.
• Jewelry: My Prayer Bracelet - a reminder to pray for joy from Heart on Your Sleeve design. The card it came on has a prayer; "Today, I pray for abundant joy... Lord, may I be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, & faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12"

This Butterfly Box was a sweet reminder of the power of prayer. I love every inch of its contents. I am looking forward to reading this devotional and writing down my thoughts in the journal it came with. I love the little bracelet. I have small wrists, but since you can pull the strings tighter it fits perfectly. I love the butterfly bead on it. It will always remind me to pray for joy and Transform * Renew * Pursue. I tried the Sweet Peppermint Tea Drop and it was delicious. I love how it was made of organic raw sugar, organic spearmint leaves and organic peppermint oil, caffeine free, and heart shaped. The Vanilla White Tea one is made of organic raw sugar, organic white peony tea, and organic vanilla extract, low in caffeine, high in antioxidants, and is flower shaped. The card will be a good daily prompt for prayers.

This is such a wonderful gift for any woman that needs something extra special during these turbulent times. 2020 has been such a difficult year for many. With so many uncertainties, we as Christian women know that God is with us and that he can help us through any of our trials. The Butterfly Box helps remind us of these things. It helps lift our spirits and keep us close to Christ.

The Christian Standard Bible (CSB) (in)courage Devotional Bible is a lovely Bible for women that is all about finding your own story within God's story of redemption. It has 52 reflective devotions that begin each week of scripture reading. These reflective devotions include questions and space for journaling. Each book of the Bible has an introduction which includes historical background, the message of the book, and why the book is important and applicable today. There are also ten themes within this Bible each holding a message. These are color coded and marked with a design. Each theme corresponds with reading plan, devotions, women of courage, and two beautifully designed scripture verses. Each theme has one verse from both the Old and New Testaments. These verses have artistic touches to aid in memorization and represent the beauty of God's word. Each theme has a specific reading plan that corresponds with Bible passages and devotions. These go from 5 to 7 weeks. Fifty women throughout the Bible are highlighted and these are connected with the themes.

What I Thought:

I received the green cloth over board version without tabs. The cover is embossed with silver lettering and has a partial slipcase. It has 2 ribbon bookmarks, one is dark green and one is cream colored to match the book. Having two bookmarks is a nice touch.

The pages are thin and delicate like many Bibles. This Bible starts out with a commitment page to sign and write in. Then the table of contents shows a letter from the editor, how to read the Bible, God's story of redemption, features, devotional theme guide, introduction to the CSB, and introduction to Bible serif...all in the beginning of the book. Both old and new testament are present. There is lots of margin space to write notes and at the bottom of the verses there is lined journaling space to write thoughts or feelings. Then at the end of the book there are multiple reading plans, women of courage index, topic index, and meet the (in)courage Devotional Bible team and authors.

Since it is coming up on Thanksgiving I found the gratitude plan in the back to start out my devotional study. I love how this book is set up with God's word, authors devotionals, and lines to put in your thoughts and stories. This Bible is great for women who need some encouragement in their lives.

Our Thoughts:
This special journal is not your average everyday diary. It has some really neat features. My daughter Zari really loved the twinkling lights and majestic unicorn on the cover. She also loved that it came with a pen with ink she could write with inside it and others wouldn't see what she wrote because it was invisible unless under a black light or the light of the pen itself. We did find that the pen's light is fairly faint because we could hardly make out what was written with it on the pages. You can use a regular pen, but that kind of defeats the purpose of  Also I do want to say that if you take the PUSH sticker off of the product you need to remember where it was so that you can press the correct area so that the lights illuminate and press firmly there to activate.

This will keep Zari busy putting her thoughts and doodles down on paper. She can't wait to personalize it and make it her very own. I hope this will be something she looks back to fondly when she is older.

The Light-Up Unicorn Diary is perfect gift for girls ages 6 and up. Our Thoughts:
This Mermaid and Sealife themed Scented Secret Scrapbook Kit is super cute. My 8 year old daughter Teela loves to draw pictures in it and use the scratch 'n sniff stickers, jewels, and tape which reminds us of washi tape to decorate it with. This can be used as a scrapbook, picture/photo album, journal, and/or diary. Teela loves that she can personalize it herself and make it her own. She also thinks that it is cool that it locks so that her older brothers can not see her journal entries. The required passcode to open it makes it perfect for her to keep everything inside a secret. The scrapbook and stickers are both scented with a sweet smelling fragrance that to us smells like grape. Some of the embellishments can fit inside the pencil pouch to keep it all neat. The fancy feather pouf pen with a pink heart is delightfully girly as well. The passcode numbers for all of these scrapbooks are the same and you can not change it, however. My daughter loves this kit and was even using the prism sheet that came in the box as a background for the items to cut out shapes to glue in the book as well. *Does not come with the scissors in the second picture. This was a great early birthday gift for my daughter!

How We Used This and Our Thoughts:

This Bible Journaling Kit has been fun to experiment with. I love how it comes with colored pencils instead of markers or colored pens that might bleed through the delicate pages. This kit is a great way to start journaling. I love the verse on the pouch that comes with it as well which reads, "Whatever is lovely...think about such things.". This is not the whole verse, but is a shortened version. The stickers are a very nice addition too and make the verses stand out more. This pouch has an adjustable strap that can go around a Bible or Book of Mormon. The pouch can hold all of the journaling supplies except the page protector mat. I love that those supplies fit neatly inside my scripture case inside the pouch so that I have everything I need at my fingertips. This kit would be a great gift for someone!

Anni is mother to 4 children, Zoe, Lotus Sunshine, Bodhi Ocean, & River Love and she is happily married to her soul mate, Tim Daulter.

In one of her recent books, Sacred Motherhood: An Inspirational Guide and Journal for Mindfully Mothering Children of All Ages, she and author Niki Dewart to reconnect with yourself when mothering gets stressful. Anni Daulter and Niki Dewart have combined their infinite wisdom of pregnancy, birthing, parenting, and living consciously in this lovely book. Their inspiration and celebration of motherhood echoes deeply in the pages of this text. Whether you are having a maiden voyage or are a seasoned traveler of motherhood, the journey that Sacred Motherhood takes you is both nurturing and healing to body, mind, and spirit. Even though the lessons and photography lean towards Eastern Philosophy and The Divine Feminine, this book can also be personalized to whatever spiritual or religious practice you follow.

I love how each part of this book correlates with the rhythm of the seasons starting with spring and ending with winter. The book is divided out into 52 weeks with each of the four parts having 13 chapters. Each illuminating chapter as seven sections: You, Your Soul, Your Child, Reflections, Sacred Motherhood Practice, Ideas, and Pairings. After these there are a few journal pages to write thoughts. I love the ideas that the authors give to help celebrate the momentous events of motherhood: from ceremonial baths to art creations to gardening with your children to having a spa day; these help the bonds of motherhood become stronger. The pairings are so much fun too. These span: herbal allies, music, books, movies, flower essences, crystals, colors, classes, trainings, and retreats. Sacred Motherhood also has some recipes for: oils, sprays, teas, etc. Every offering is one of love and passion to inspire you to be mindful while on your motherhood journey.

This book is a treasure. It now has a permanent place by my bedside so that I can refer to it often. I recommend this to mothers everywhere!  This book would be a perfect baby shower gift.

Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal Review

My family had the privilege of trying the Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal for this review to use in conjunction with my own homeschool curriculum. This is a Schoolhouse Review Crew Review. All opinions expressed are my own or those of my family. This post contains affiliate links that will benefit the blog.

Field trips are always a welcome get away for my family. I especially love the field trips that are educational, but any field trip whether for eduction or fun or both are great because they get us out of the stuffy house and let us see stuff we would have never been able to see otherwise. I also love to document my experiences by photography, sketching, scrapbooking, journaling, and blogging because they are outlets where I can be creative while writing about my adventures in life. I believe that it is easier to actually learn by doing and seeing. Field trips let us learn in this way.

The Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal is a neat spiral bound book with pages to fill out. The Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal can be used for one child or the whole family. It lets you record your trips in the journal in a fun way. It has colorful pages that are appealing to children as well as adults. The pages are made from a lightweight card stock so they won't tear easily. The front and back of the cover is shiny so if there was a little bit of moisture that spills on it you can wipe it off easily, but it won't repel a lot so be careful around liquids. The book has 64 pages total and 9 different sections which are listed in the table of contents with their page numbers. This is a scrapbook, a field trip recorder, a 4H event recorder, a nature journal, and a family trip memory book wrapped up into one neat workbook.

The Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal also has a lot of pages that are fun and get your creative juices flowing. In the front of the book it has a page to fill out the name of the person or family the book belongs to. Then it has the Table of Contents listed to easily find the pages you are looking for in the book. Next it has pages about Preparing For A Field Trip. These pages have great tips and things to do before you go and when you get there in checklist format. After these pages there are Field Trip Ideas. These ideas are so versatile and are in a easy to read chart. The Places I've Explored Maps are great to fill out what you've experienced around your state, around the United States, and in the World. The Field Trip Pages have you fill out things about a specific trip, like: where it was, date, a map of the place, a list of books to read about the place (that should have been read before the trip, but can be read later as well), a spot for a photo or drawing, emergency contact plan, and a list of things wanting to be seen or done on one page and then a page opposite that one where you can write a story of your day and something that you never want to forget after you have made the trip. There are 10 sets of these pages. There are also My Special Spot Pages that document a small (about 20' X 20') section of wildlife throughout all four seasons in the year. These pages have a place for a photograph of the spot during that season, a place to record: location, date, temperature, and rainfall; notes, and a grid to draw an aerial map. After these are As I See It Pages. These pages have 7 that have fun prompts and 10 pages that you can complete as you desire. These are made to capture things in sketch format instead of words.

Included in most Apologia Educational Ministries products, they have a link to a list of helpful third party websites to go along with your product. These you have to log in for to have access to with the password provided in the product. How We Are Using This Journal:

My whole family has been using the Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal for different things that we have explored since we got it. Here are just a few of them...

• When my son, Jaedan, and I went to Louisville Kentucky May 22nd through the 24th I brought the Apologia Educational Ministries Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal with us just in case we found the time between studying history and being with our group to fill out some pages in it. Our trip there included seeing two very cool museums. I let him fill out two sets of field trip pages for both museums because I wanted his thoughts in the book about our trip and I knew I would be writing a blog post about it later too. 
• On Memorial Day, the day after our mother son trip to Louisville, my family met my parents and my sister, Melody, and her two kids at Claggett Creek Park in Keiser Oregon. Melody had came all the way from Nevada to visit. We had a lovely Memorial Day eating picnic food at a picnic table there and watching our kids play on the playground. I filled out the field trip pages for our picnic, but included what the rest of my family thought about the trip as well. 
• We also went to Everfree Northwest in Seattle Washington, which is a My Little Pony Friendship is Magic Convention, as a family on May 30th. Even though this trip was mostly for fun we still had a blast. I filled out the field trip pages for Everfree, but included what the rest of my family thought about the trip as well.

We also love the As I See It pages where you get to draw what you see and the My Special Spot pages where you can record seasonal changes in nature out in the wild. We haven't gotten to fill out the My Special Spot pages completely because we haven't had this book for that long, but we plan on using this whole book to travel, study, explore, observe, record, document, and create memories that we can remember as a family from years to come.

I like that field trips are only limited by imagination. You can do virtual field trips or real ones. You can go just in your own backyard or across the world. It is up to you what you do with the Exploring Creation Field Trip Journal. Let your imagination go and explore!

I love the faux suede cover and little Swarovski crystal jewel that is placed in between the words and picture stamped on the front. It has pockets to place letters and other precious papers, places to put photos and write down items of importance from pregnancy cravings to prenatal checkup information. Photos will be well preserved because the pages are made from acid free and lignin free, heavy-weight paper. It is also well laid out with tabs to help separate the 5 main sections. I am excited to fill the 105 unique color pages with my thoughts, memories, and keepsakes for this pregnancy.
