This is a review I wrote about the artisan who made my metal wall sculptures.

I received $50 to spend on Novica. I wanted something that could decorate the side of my farm's well house. I needed something bright and cheery so that when guests come up our driveway they would notice it. I found a gorgeous steel wall sculpture of a Violet Hummingbird by J. Blas from Mexico. It was the perfect price because it was just a cent less than the GC I received and since I am a Novica Ambassador I received free shipping. It is shaped by hand and has cutout motifs on its wings and tail feathers. It is the perfect size too at just 21.25 inches high x 15 inches wide x 2.4 inches deep you can still tell from the road coming to our home that it is a hummingbird. I also learned that in Mexico when someone sees a hummingbird in flight, they make a wish. I love this sentiment so much!

I had purchased a different wall sculpture from the same artist a number of years back called 'Cave Art Pony' which is hung on a wall in my living room and I love it too. These metal wall sculptures are so unique and wonderful! I highly recommend J. Blas and his artwork!

Assorted face masks from Novica.

Be sure to check out Novica's selection of beautiful face masks. They will keep you safe during COVID times and your purchase will help the artisans too. These are all unique and there is sure to be one that fits your style.

Artsy Olive Personalized Framed Art Print Review and Giveaway

I received this art free to facilitate this review.

Artsy Olive is a online shop where you can get custom, lovely art pieces for your home. These come in different sizes, prints, and you can choose different frames (black, white, oak) or none at all. They have a great selection of fun art and inspiring quotes to choose from as well. There is something for everyone and every room in the house.

Here is how it works:

1. choose a background
2. personalize
3. choose a frame
4. checkout

What I Thought:

We got to choose a customized 7.7" x 7.7" framed art print. The process of ordering was quick and easy after I selected what print I wanted. I selected the Rooster Kitchen print, personalized it with The Abels' Kitchen and the phrase "In This Kitchen Love is Homemade and Generously Shared", choose a black frame, and checked out. This was so simple and painless.

Even though I unwrapped it some I wanted to show the plastic and cardboard protecting it while it was shipped.

I received it in the mail super fast. The box was filled with packing peanuts that I really don't care for, but it came to me in good condition. It was wrapped in clear plastic and the corners were protected with cardboard pieces. It also came with hanging hardware as well.

Rooster Kitchen print framed in black and personalized for my home.

I love the art of the very colorful rooster. It matches my kitchen very well. I initially thought it might do well hung above my sink in my kitchen, but I think now I might want to find a better place to display it because there is no waterproof protection, like glass or clear plastic over the print and I do not want it ruined. The Rooster Kitchen print also comes in the 13.7" x 13.7" size.

Artsy Olive Rooster Kitchen print hung in my Kitchen.

Arsty Olive is a great company to get lovely and personalized art from. I recommend them highly. These would be wonderful gifts for the holidays!

3DLIGHTFX My Little Pony Rainbow Dash 3D Deco Light Review

The 3DLIGHTFX 3D Deco Lights are a neat addition to any room. They come in iconic styles to help decorate the wall and emit a soft glow. You can find Marvel, WB, Nickelodeon, Cars/Jet, sports, Hasbro, Disney, Nature, Star Wars, and Universal themed 3D Deco Lights. Besides 3D Deco Lights they have 3D Minis, Lil Deco Lights, 3D Disc Lights coming soon to their night light products.

The Rainbow Dash 3D Deco Light is one of three My Little Pony styles that 3DLIGHTFX has. The other two are Pinkie Pie and Twilight Sparkle. These are great for nurseries, rec rooms, kids' rooms, hallways, and Brony Caves. My Little Pony fans young and old alike will love these to help create a soft glow to any room.

Features for the 3DLIGHTFX My Little Pony 3D Deco Lights:

• 100% official Hasbro My Little Pony merchandise.
• Cordless, battery operated. (requires 3 AA batteries, not included)
• Never gets hot to touch. Uses energy efficient LED Lights.
• Looks great ON or OFF. Switch on the side is easily accessible.
• Simple to install. Never have to change the bulbs. (includes screws, wall plugs, and wall sticker)
• Great for nurseries, rec rooms, dens, kids' rooms, hallways, and Brony Caves.
• Provides parents the necessary light for midnight changes, feedings, comforting check-ins and, of course, to keep boogie monsters away.

How To Install:

• Follow the instructions that come with product and are on http://www.3dlightfx.com/instructions/ to install. (screws and wall plugs are located inside the battery compartment)

Our Thoughts:
It was tough to choose only one of the 3DLIGHTFX My Little Pony 3D Deco Lights as we think all of them are extremely cool looking. Although I wish they had all the mane-six characters or at least Fluttershy, my favorite MLP mane-six character from the Friendship Is Magic series. We finally chose Rainbow Dash (RD) because we love how colorful she is.

The Rainbow Dash 3D Deco Light came in a small box. We did not expect that the part that was 3D was only her head and that the sticker had her wings. We were hoping that the wings were 3D as well, but this was not well represented in the pictures online of the product. RD is not RD without her wings...so the sticker has to be used. If we decide later to move the light to a different location we are not sure that the sticker can be peeled off the wall and re-stuck. In retrospect we probably should have picked Twilight Sparkle because in the first seasons she never had wings or Pinkie Pie because she is an earth pony with neither wings nor horn and so this would not have mattered as much with them. However; we did notice that extra wall stickers are available from their partners to purchase on their website. We are just not sure how much they are to purchase because they do not say.

The Rainbow Dash 3D Deco Light was fairly easy to install and great looking on the wall too. We just cleaned the wall, installed the sticker, and mounted the light after placing the wall plugs and screws in the wall. It showed us exactly where to place the holes after placing the sticker, so it was all very easy. After installation, it looks like Rainbow Dash is popping straight through the wall. We love that the 3D Deco Lights are battery operated and don't have any unattractive chords running from it. When Rainbow Dash is turned on with a switch on the side she glows with a comforting ambience for 60 minutes straight or until the switch is put in the off position. After the 60 minutes she turns off automatically. In the day time we try to place her switch in the off position to conserve energy.

My whole family loves this night light! We recommend the 3DLIGHTFX 3D Deco Lights to everyone. It is a fairly unique gift that is sure to create a fun atmosphere in any room or hallway. I have my eyes on the new MLP 3D Minis from 3DLIGHTFX as well as the other MLP 3D Deco Lights and the new Nature butterfly ones too!

I received $35 to spend on Novica. I love the variety and eclectic feel to Novica. I sought out something unique to bring a welcoming knock to my farm house door. I purchased a Horse Door Knocker called 'Horse Arrival' which is made out of copper plated brass that has an antique look with a lacquer finish. It is so very perfect for welcoming guests into my home. This horse head door knocker is hand crafted by Khalid Ali, an artisan in India, and inspired by the ancient Mughal style. It even came with the iron screws to mount it. This door knocker gives an ambience of dignity and grace and also has a neat feel of the orient. At a little over a pound in weight, this has got some beef to it. I love the way it looks and hope it lasts a long long time out in the elements. I cannot wait to install it!

This brass door knocker 'Horse Arrival' can be found in decor accessory categories such as Animal Themed Decorative Hardware. Enjoy exploring these sections for other Novica treasures.

LivingPlug Energy Efficient INLET with Faceplate Review

This review is sponsored by LivingPlug. This post contains affiliate links which means I may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase. Thank you for supporting my blog!

INLET is San Francisco-based LivingPlug's multi-use, energy efficient and child-proof outlet and USB source. The INLET comes with a screw to attach it to the outlet and has tamper-resistant outlets so it is safer. It turns a standard outlet into three receptacles plus a 2.1 USB charger and features the “UNplug button” which shuts off power and eliminates the need to physically UNplug devices from the outlet, thus reducing “Vampire Charges” caused when electronics suck power even when turned off. LivingPlug estimates consumers can reduce their electrical bill 15-25% by using the “UNplug” button. What a great way to take a bite out of utility bills!

Besides being very functional and practical their INLET is also decorative. Outlets are in every room and they don't have to be boring. You can make them fabulous looking with INLET faceplates and enhance the aesthetics of your home. Faceplates cover the outside of the INLET to match your home decor. LivingPlug has hundreds of designs that you can pick from ranging from nature scenes, graphic prints, noted artists, inspirational quotes, holiday and seasonal, as well as a line of children's inspired looks. You can choose from several Halloween-inspired designs like: a Happy Pumpkin, Silly Ghost, Haunted House, Black Cat, and variety of fall scenes to decorate before the first Trick-or-Treaters arrive. Additionally, the company offers a line of Thanksgiving, Christmas, and other holiday season designs. LivingPlug also offers an option to create a customized faceplate for you as well: upload a personal photo, school mascot, favorite quote, or child's artwork, etc. for them to make you a unique design. These faceplates are a duplex electric outlet cover, printed domestically on an ABS faceplate. The Faceplate is super easy to place onto the INLET, just slide the ABS formed brackets that are on the back of the frame onto the INLET front chrome pins. You can interchange these faceplates with one another so you can change the decor of your home with the seasons, holidays, or your mood.

From left to right: The front of the INLET and back of the faceplate, The back of the INLET and front of the Pin Oak faceplate.

I received an INLET with a Pin Oak faceplate. This design is by Seymour Leichman and Riverside Park illustrations and is of a lovely tree. I love this design because it fits with my love of nature and goes with the fall and autumn season well.

LivingPlug INLET with Pin Oak Faceplate. Coffee maker and reader plugged into it.

There are a few problems some outlets and plugs have using the INLET. The INLET only plugs into a three prong outlet. Unfortunately, if you have an older home with two prong outlets you will not be able to use the INLET. Also, if your three prong outlets are installed in an incorrect orientation (upside down or sideways) you will have issues using the INLET with the faceplate unless you choose a faceplate that can be oriented upside down or sideways also and still look the normal (there are actually quite a few to choose from like this). The faceplate can be put on the INLET "wrong" so that it plugs into an upside down outlet and be right side up, but then the faceplate covers the INLET outlets so you cannot plug anything in. There is a lip on the faceplate that even when put on correctly still won't let larger plugs plug into the INLET outlets. You could plug these bulkier plugs into the bottom without the faceplate on, but then the INLET is very plain and you still might not be able to use all three outlets at once because of the close proximity of the three plugs.

Problems some outlets and plugs have using the INLET.

I believe LivingPlug INLET is a revolutionary product when used with the proper outlets and plugs. It is ideal for people that want to upgrade their 3 prong outlets into something more: functional, practical, beautiful, and safe. The LivingPlug INLET, by itself or with the faceplate, would make a great gift for someone as well.

The LivingPlug INLET is super affordable. It retails for $25 and each faceplate is sold separately from the INLET and other LivingPlug base products for an additional $25. To learn more about the INLET and faceplate designs or to purchase, please visit LivingPlug.

Tatutina Wooden Letters Review and Giveaway

Tatutina is a wonderful online store with unique products that are all very colorful and happy. Most of their products are hand painted and all of them that are, use paint that is certified non-toxic and lead free. They now can also personalize by hand painting a name in their own Tatutina style. They have such a fun and funky way of painting their designs! I fell in love with the colors and bright patterns.

We were asked to review their wooden letters and so I got to pick a name or word to have the wooden letters spell. My girls want an enchanted forest, woodland themed room. I picked the word ENCHANTED for the girls room because it basically encompasses the feel they want their room to have. I also chose pastel colors and mostly floral, rainbow/stripe, and hearts...with the occasional polka-dot.

Tatutina Pastel Wooden Letters: ENCHANTED

I picked these letters:
Wooden Letter E - Pastel Green w/Dots
Wooden Letter N - Pastel Pink w/Dots
Wooden Letter C - Pastel Rainbow
Wooden Letter H - Pastel Pink w/Heart
Wooden Letter A - Pastel Pink w/Flower
Wooden Letter N - Pastel Pink w/Stripes
Wooden Letter T - Pastel Pink w/Flower
Wooden Letter E - Pastel Pink w/Hearts
Wooden Letter D - Pastel Orange w/Heart

The letters you can pick from on Tatutina's website are painted in either pastel or bright colors. They are approximately 7" tall, with keyhole mount on the back for easy hanging. They are not heavy because they are hollow inside.

The wooden letters came all in one box and were individually wrapped. The box was fairly heavy, but held all the letters without leaving too much room for movement which is great so they wouldn't get broken in shipment. All of the letters arrived safe and sound to me.

I hung them all easily with thumbtacks above the girls window in their room. I didn't even have to get out any tools or hardware. I love how simple they were to put up and how they look in the room. These are a wonderful room decoration!

I was asked to get something from one of these regions with a $40 gift code that they gave me and also try out their new premium gift wrap. Most premium gift wrap is only $3.95-$5.95 per item. It is as unique as the gift you choose to have wrapped. The premium wrap has handmade elements, carefully crafted ribbons and beautiful brass plates.

Songbird Haven Rosewood tea light holder made by Reshma Anand in India

I chose the Songbird Haven Rosewood tea light holder made by Reshma Anand in India. It came wrapped in the premium gift wrap which is basically brown (or white) paper, pretty fabric, ribbon, and a brass plate that says NOVICA on it. Inside the wrapped box is another box that is blue with a lid and stamped with what looks like a partridge in a pair tree. The tea light was wrapped in white tissue paper to protect it while traveling. The Songbird Haven Rosewood tea light holder was just what I thought it would be. I love the birds nestled in the leafy branches of the shady tree that is carved in low relief and hand painted. I love the rosewood this is made out of. The wood has such gorgeous figure in it. This candle holder can be placed on a surface, like a table or shelf or hung on the wall like a sconce. It comes with a tea light that has an aluminum casing for safety.

The Songbird Haven Rosewood tea light holder can be hung on the wall.

Biblical Names of Christ Heirloom Ornaments Review

We received product free from Deseret Book and Zions Mercantile to facilitate this review.

The Biblical Names of Christ Heirloom Ornaments are a wonderful reminder of what the true meaning of Christmas is all about. These Christ-centered holiday ornaments are great to display on a tree, as gift tags, or adorning a wreath on the front door. Each star has a one of the sacred biblical names of the Savior across it and comes nestled in a box of shredded brown paper with a viewing window to see them through the lid. On the back of the box they come in, a scripture reference accompanies each name. Since there are 12 of these they are perfect for a "Twelve Days of Christmas" countdown. Jesus is the reason for the season. Ornament size: 3¼" x 3¼". *Hooks & twine NOT included.

These decorations are made of tin-like metal and have a rustic antique pewter finish to them. They won't break if dropped by little ones, but the holes at the top are fragile if bent too much and I could see them breaking off if mishandled. We also would have loved the name on one side and the scripture reference on the other, not just the reference on the box.

We love to reflect this time of year about the birth of Jesus and love to have something to display that helps us do so. These stars are a great scripture reference tool and they can be incorporated well with Family Home Evening or family devotionals. I had my kids hang each one on our tree while I read the scripture to the one they were hanging. Then we had a discussion about them. It was a great family experience.

Included are:

• Lamb of God - John 1:29
• Emmanuel - Matthew 1:23
• Bread of Life - John 6:35
• The Light - John 8:12
• Lord of Lords - Revelation 17:14
• Redeemer - Job 19:25
• King of Israel - John 12:13
• Shepherd - John 10:11
• Prince of Peace - Isaiah 9:6
• Mediator - 1 Timothy 2:5
• Living Water - John 4:10
• King of Kings - Revelation 17:14

Lamps.com and Tiffany Parrot Table Lamp Review

I received a gift code of $100 to use at Lamps.com to order a lamp or light fixture of my choice to facilitate this review. I chose their Tiffany Parrot Table Lamp because we were given a collection of Lynn Chase Parrots of Paradise (Parrotdise) dishes from Brian's Grammy as a wedding gift when we were married and this lamp matched them. Someday I would love to display these lovely dishes in a china cabinet in my kitchen or dining room. The Tiffany Parrot Lamp will be displayed there as well if I have my own way.

I ordered the lamp. It was under the $100 gift code price, had free shipping and handling and you had the option of also adding a free set of light bulbs that would fit it. I chose to get the free light bulbs also because I was sure that I didn't have any bulbs currently to fit it. Ordering through Lamps.com was very easy and straight forward. I ordered the lamp and the bulbs on February 21st and received the lamp on  March 1st. I however; didn't get the courtesy bulb pack until March 11th. I was told this was because they ship out of separate places. So I had to wait to try the lamp out until the Candelabra 7w (E12) Incandescent bulbs came.

After the bulbs arrived we got one out to place into the lamp. This particular lamp unscrews with two screws at the base of the parrot shade where it joins the tree trunk that it sits on. It is fragile so you have to be careful when replacing bulbs into the socket or handling the lamp in general. Thankfully the lamp only goes on one way (clockwise) onto the stand and it came with easy step by step directions to put it all together. You probably can't tell in my pictures, but there are little parrot bird feet perched on the tree trunk to help you line everything up before you screw it together. It has a lovely dark bronze, circle gold finish and a felt on the bottom of the base so that it won't harm furniture. The polarized plug had a bushing on it that we took off so that we could plug it into the outlet. The cord wire has a good length to it with a simple inline on/off switch to operate the light.

With the lamp also came a little pamphlet that told about Dale Tiffany lamps. Dale Tiffany is the world-renowned manufacturer of fine glass lighting and home decor in the tradition of Louis Comfort Tiffany. With their "opalescent glass" shades the century old tradition continues in these lamps with the same copper foil technique as the original. This "opalescent glass" or stained glass is made of genuine hand rolled art glass. All pieces are hand-crafted art. Each becomes its own truly unique heirloom piece.

I love this lamp. It is gorgeous. The mosaic stained art glass is elegant and definitely fits into my eccentric eclectic style well within my home. When the lamp was on it held a delightful ambiance and was not too bright to make my dog go crazy because of lights and shadows it produced. I was pleased with it even though I would have liked the areas of the tail and beak of the parrot to light up more. It definitely enhances the mood and environment where I place it and proves to be a great accent piece.

You can also go to the left side bar and narrow down even further by clicking on a specific link. These are narrowed by gender, type, interest, personality, gift type, occasion, price and region. I love the Gifts for the Animal Lover and Eco-Friendly Gifts category.

Mohawk Home Rug Review and Giveaway

Since we have moved into the home we live in now we have made a lot of upgrades to our home. We have redone both front and back doors, made a cement doorstep that is wheelchair friendly, re-rocked the driveway, repainted the house, re-roofed and upgraded the skylight in our kitchen, put in a large stainless steel double sink in the kitchen, remodeled both bathrooms, etc. When we moved in our backyard looked like a jungle. We had to go through and rip out all kinds of thorny locust bushes and raspberries that were taking over. I have since had a lovely garden back there with vegetables and herbs growing in it and the grass is lush and green now.

One thing I didn't have though was a lovely doormat to welcome guests to our home. My doorstep was very bare until I received the Mohawk Ocean Doormat to test and review for free on my blog. It was just the right touch that it needed.

If you have read this blog for long you know that I love the ocean. This doormat has wonderful sandy browns, aquamarine blues, and grassy greens. I think my favorite square on it is the Sandpiper because it reminds me of my father-in-law who used to own a business with the same name. The sailboat is a close second because it reminds me of a dream my husband and I wanting to build a large sailing vessel someday to sail the ocean in. This Coastalhome Snapshot is the perfect thing for my front doorstep.

This Mohawk doormat is made of 100% polyester facing and 100% recycled rubber backing. It is a good size, 18" x 30", for welcoming and is very durable for all weather types. It is also functional as well as beautiful since it removes dirt and debris from shoes and feet as you come in and can be easily cleaned with a vacuum or shaken out. You can also rinse as needed with a garden hose and then let it air dry. My rainy weather here in Oregon sure makes cleaning this doormat easy.

Mohawk Home offers more than just doormats. They have a wide selection of area & accent rugs, indoor/outdoor rugs, kitchen rugs, bath rugs and rug pads with different patterns, color, and style. You are bound to find one that you just love. Watch this video to find out more. Mohawk Home makes safe and sustainable products. Just look for their GreenWorks symbol on their items and you will be getting something using recycled rubber and/or fibers, ecocotton, and/or natural fibers.

BUY IT
You can find Mohawk Home products online at retailers like Home Depot, Kohl's, Lowes, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, & Sears, Walmart and JCPenny.

Prize: Win a Mohawk Home item valued up to $19.99 (includes doormats, kitchen rugs, bath mats, and rug padding).

Novica $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway

NOVICA helps change the lives of artisans in developing nations, while offering us extraordinary handmade gifts, jewelry, apparel, and home decor. There are so many talented artists and artisans around the world. NOVICA provides these unique, hard-to-find items on their internet website at great prices. These services are all fair trade, meaning that they don't charge the artists and artisans any listing fees and the artists and artisans remain fully independent. They are free to raise their prices, lower their prices, or remove their items from their website whenever they please. This website is great to buy something from for your sweetheart for Valentine's Day, just remember since these items are coming all the way from the country they are made in, the shipping might take longer than expected.

They have some very great gifts, including: Unique Corporate Gifts, Silk Shawls, Pendants bracelets, and Women's wraps and sarongs.

I love the NOVICA platform. They have a story of the specific artist and artisan on the item's page for every item they create. They cover the Andes, Bali and Java, Brazil, Central America, India, Mexico, Thailand, and West Africa regions. I love learning about the artist or artisan that has made the items when I purchase from there. You can search for what you want to look for in their search and narrow it down even more from there. You can also search from low to high price or high to low price. They also have these categories that you can search under as special features right now: Valentine's Day Gifts, Gift Finder, Eco-Friendly Gifts, Gifts for Mom, Gifts for Dad, Corporate Gifts, Spiritual & Inspirational Gifts, Fast Shipping Gifts, Collectibles, Featured Sale, and Gift Animals.

I also love their new home party division, NOVICA LIVE. If you join as a consultant you will be getting in early and making good money in direct sales supporting artisans worldwide. NOVICA LIVE is expanding across the country right now and signing up new consultants every week. The starter kits are only $199 and have over $400 worth of samples and $150 in business materials. They have a lot of promotions going on for their early consultants, including earning a trip to recreate Eat, Pray, Love with their co-founder Armenia in Bali (she was featured in Liz Gilbert's book)! Also, they have a generous commission plan so you can make money while working just a few hours per week. If you sign up to host a party or be a new consultant please put in my blog url on the Contact Us page under the drop down text input box where the question says, "How did you hear about NOVICA Live", after you select "from a blogger" or "from a website". This way they can offer me credit for referring you.

I received a free $50 Gift Certificate from NOVICA so that I can review some items later on my blog once they arrive from Thailand. I picked some gorgeous Natural orchid dangle earrings called 'Twilight' made by artisan Danai and a beautiful Lapis lazuli and smoky quartz brooch with 'Phuket Flowers' made by Nareerat.
