MyGetTogether Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives Event

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and I have chose to host a Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives MyGetTogether from the General Mills Pssst... Network. From now until December 31st, you can help the cause by purchasing Yoplait Yogurt and sending in your lids. For every pink lid you send by December 31, 2010 Yoplait will donate 10 cents to Susan G. Komen for the Cure. Click here for instructions on where and how to mail your lids. You also can Fan/Like them on Facebook and they will donate an additional $1.00 for every virtual lid you send to your friends on Facebook. You can also go to the Starter Kit section on the Yoplait Save Lids to Save Lives website to download some cool tools to use in your fight for the cause. There is even an iron on so you can make your own t-shirt to show your support!

Here’s what I received in MyGetTogether Kit:
- Materials for guests including pass-along talksheets and coupons
- A copy of Promise Me, a book authored by Nancy G. Brinker, the founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure
- A breast health shower hanger and resources to gather additional breast health materials

My dad's sister died of breast cancer and I wished there was a cure then. She was unfortunately not one of the survivors you sometimes hear about. I was younger and wasn't aware of how I could help the cause back then. Now I know and am trying to help out as much as I can to spread the word and raise awareness of this awful disease.

I had fun with my party. Everyone had some yummy Yoplait yogurt with pink lidded tops and my friends went away with a better understanding of how they can support the cause too and maintain breast health and self-awareness. We also read a chapter of the Promise Me book by Nancy G. Brinker and it was so inspiring! I recommend it for reading!

Flutterbye Dreams Review

Flutterbye Dreams is a small shop on Etsy that makes hair clippies, felt finger puppets, mitten clips, soother clips for binkies, felt cookies, felt crowns, felt tooth fairy pillows, and other creations. These creations are handmade and hand sewn in Canada and are very well made.

I received a colorful assortment of 5 felt cookies (one red, purple, orange, pink and blue) and a felt princess crown for free to review for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. The felt cookies looked good enough to eat! They are embellished with felt icing & sprinkles that are little sparkly beads! The beads are very securely stitched so they won't come off easily. They are a great addition to any play kitchen. This was Teela's first felt food and she thought it was great! The felt pink princess crown was so adorable on Teela and I know she will love to play dress up with it a lot. Flutterbye Dreams definitely pays attention to detail. The crown and the cookies are both perfect for pretend play.

Kiddieland Disney My Rocking Princess Pony Review

My daughter who is 1 1/2 years old just got this pony from us as a Christmas gift. She absolutely loves it! She loves to rock on it and she figured out how to activate the music and horsey sounds by pressing its ears all by herself. This was easily assembled out of the box. It just needed a few pieces put together and the instructions were very straight forward. My daughter loves the Disney princesses and this pony has an emblem on its forehead of 3 princesses. Ours has Snow White, Cinderella and Belle from Beauty and the Beast. It is all soft plush except for its rocker, emblem and two handles which are plastic. If you press the right ear it whinnies twice then plays regal music, then trotting sounds and a familiar song. Each time you press the ear you can get a different song at the end. The music it plays is London Bridge Is Falling Down, Row Row Row Your Boat, Camptown Races, On Top of Old Smokey a.k.a On Top of Spaghetti, This Old Man and Skip to My Lou. If you press the left ear it gives you a sound like harp, whinnying twice, trotting, different regal music, and a different harp sound. Ours requires 2 AA batteries, but I have heard others require 3. It is for girls, 12 - 24 Months/2 Years and maximum weight capacity is 50 lbs. Made by Kiddieland. I only paid $18 at Walmart for my daughter's rocking pony!

Creative Clips by Colleen Review and Giveaway

Creative Clips by Colleen does a fantastic job at making very adorable clips. They feature a strip of Velcro to prevent the clip from slipping in fine hair.

I received a Cupcake on Medium Pink clip for my daughters to wear. It is very well made and held my daughter, Teela's, bangs out of her eyes. Teela really needed something that she wouldn't mess with. To often I find the hairbands I have put on her get pulled down or off. She really didn't touch this little clip which is a big plus!

Creative Clips by Colleen makes other very cute designs too. I love the Light Blue Butterfly on Stripe, Pink Butterfly on Green & Pink Stripe, Small Pink Heart on Pink & White, Hot Pink Flower on Satin, Sheer Pink Flower on Argyle, Coral Flower, Rose Flower, Yellow Flower, Lavender Flower on Light Purple, Mauve Pearl Medallion on Light Pink, and all the crown clips. Besides clips they have headbands and a clip rack for sale on their website. The clips are a little pricey at $8-$10, but these are handmade so don't be gawking at the price!!
