Go to Sleep, Sheep! is a children's board book written by George Beahm and illustrated by Sydney Hanson. This book is part of the series, Bedtime Barn. Adorable sheep and rhyming verses grace the pages of this book to help lull your little one off to sleep. This book tries to help convince even the most stubborn to drift off to sleep with its silly story.

What We Thought:
This board book with sparkly cover has an adorable story about little sheep that try to delay bedtime. The colorful pastel illustrations are lovely and have not only sheep, but other animals that might be on a farm. The sheep have a bow, glasses, and scarf. Most pages end in the phrase, "Go to Sleep, Sheep!" as the mama sheep tries to get them to go to sleep.

This is very cute and most parents and little ones can relate to this story. I recommend this board book for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners most of all. My youngest daughter, Zari, who is in first grade also loves this book! It is the perfect size for little hands to hold and the sturdy pages are less vulnerable to tearing. She is learning to read and it has the perfect amount of words on each page for her. She also loves looking at the adorable illustrations as well.

This lovely family-friendly story is perfect for little ones because of its sturdy pages, rhyming verse, and gorgeous illustrations by Natalia Moore. I love the shiny, eye-catching, foil and glitter embellished cover too. This book portrays spring perfectly including: picking flowers, jumping in puddles, having a picnic, flying kites, and sharing Easter with family and friends. Each moment shown is something that children can relate to and are great to share together with family and friends.

I recommend this board book for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners most of all. My youngest daughter, Zari, who is in first grade also loves this book! It is the perfect size for little hands to hold and the sturdy pages are less vulnerable to tearing. She is learning to read and it has the perfect amount of words on each page for her. This book celebrates Spring, Jesus' resurrection, and Easter. It is a great reminder to thank God for all that we have no matter how small. We cherish this book and its message of family and of being grateful. It would be a perfect gift for an Easter basket or a springtime event.

One Christmas Bear Book & Giveaway

One Christmas Bear is an adorable counting board book that features a sweet polar bear and his friends as they have winter fun during the Christmas holiday. The text is in a nice rhyming prose and counts up, from 1 to 10. These arctic animals are cute and beautifully illustrated by Anne Vittur Kennedy who is also the author. The cover is sparkly and shiny.

What We Thought:
We loved this sweet book and its darling illustrations. The book is great to read to little ones at bedtime since the end winds down with the animals heading back to their homes and being sleepy. Since it is a board book it has nice durable pages and cover. The cover is also glittery around the bear and his scarf has shiny foil in it. The rhyming text that counts from 1 to 10 is great for younger children who need to learn to count. The setting is wonderful with snowy wintry scenes of making snow angels, decorating a Christmas tree, eating gingerbread cookies and candy canes, throwing snowballs, sledding, ice skating, etc. I love that the theme of this book is counting God's wonderful gifts. I highly recommend this book for little ones! It is the perfect gift for the Christmas season.

This lovely family-friendly bedtime story is a great book to snuggle up with your little ones with. We love the illustrations by Laura Watkins. They are just darling with fluffy, cuddly looking raccoons. The daddy and little raccoon go through the book going boating, building forts, taking walks, doing chores, acting silly, making s'mores, praying, hugging, and tucking in bed, etc. The relationship of the father with the little raccoon is beautiful. This book has a wonderful message and the author, Bonnie Rickner Jensen, weaves this message of a father's and God's love for us throughout the book. Each moment shown is something that children can relate to and are great to share together with Parents and caretakers.

Our Thoughts:
The Holy Ghost: Discovering Your Extraordinary New Gift I thought that the coming of this soft cover book was very timely as my daughter Teela had turned 8 and gotten baptized last April. The Holy Ghost: Discovering Your Extraordinary New Gift is a wonderful activity 80 page book with fill-in-the-blanks, coloring pages, word searches, dot-to-dots, mazes, games, crack the code, crosswords, and many other fun filled pages. Answer keys are upside down on the pages that needs them and there are also some in the back of the book. This book teaches children the difference between the power and gift of the Holy Ghost. It also answers the questions of who the Holy Ghost is & how the Holy Ghost guides, comforts, warns and protects, testifies and teaches, and sanctifies teaching also how to use the gift. I think that this book is perfect for the child that just got baptized.

As this book is read to them children will remember how much they have to be grateful for. Perfect for ages 2-5.

I love this delightful board book! Its illustrations are so precious and the rhyming text has a joyful message of gratitude and blessings. My girls adore this book as well and Teela loves to read it to her younger sister Zari while both love looking at the cute animals and children on every page. This is a wonderful book to share with little ones with Fall just around the corner!

Little One, God Made You Special by Amy Warren Hilliker and Illustrated by Polona Lovsin is an adorable board book for ages 4-8 years old. It has cute cuddly animal illustrations that are lovingly drawn on each page to go with the text. The text shares a beautiful Christian message of love and importance in rhyme.

My daughters Zari (age 5) and Teela (age 8) love this book. It is a short and sweet little book that shows the love of a parent for a child and how God made everyone special in their own way. Zari loves looking at the gorgeous pictures and having Teela or I read it to her. This book is a board book so it is more durable than paper books we have in our library. It is perfect for reading any time of the day, including: on a trip, in the car, bedtime, etc. We love to read it at bedtime because it has such a peaceful and calming message and pictures. I look forward to sharing this book many more times with my little ones.

Dan Stiles is a local author and artist that lives in Portland, Oregon with his wife and daughters. He has done many things including  fabric, books, posters, t-shirts etc. His silk screen prints and other things are very colorful and stylized.

Baby’s First Book Blocks by Dan Stiles are 4 wonderful chunky board books that comes in a boxed set for babies that combine books and blocks together. This mini series will grab your baby's attention with its bold colors, diverse shapes, and intricate patterns. They help babies expand their visual and tactile awareness. I love that these books help babies grow and develop basic motor skills like: play-grasping, stacking, sorting, and turning pages. Since they are board books they will stand up to baby drool and little hands that might want to rip or tear things better than regular books. These are the perfect size for little hands to hold and grasp. I like that the Baby’s First Book Blocks has images in both black and white and colors. I love that these books have a dual purpose and are a fun way to play with baby. These are great for ages 0-3. My 3 year old daughter, Zari, likes them a lot! I highly recommend them!

MY THOUGHTS:
This is a beautiful board book of the telling of the birth of Jesus Christ. It is wonderful for Christmas time to teach the true meaning to little ones. Since it is a board book this will last longer and the wonderful illustrations will keep your little one occupied. My Teela loves this book and wanted me to read it over and over to her.
