King James Study Bible, Full Color Edition in Brown Leathersoft.
My Thoughts:
I received the Brown Leathersoft version of the King James Study Bible, Full Color Edition. This is a lovely stitched brown faux leather bound bible. I love that this version has the thumb index and ribbon marker to easily find the scripture passage and bookmark your place. Other Bibles will try to change pages on you and this one doesn't because it stays flat when opened. The words of Christ are in red and the text is in a wonderful 10 point font that is easy on the eyes. There are so many study notes, references, translation notes, full-color maps and charts, archeological notes, personality profiles, and notes on Christian doctrines. There are topical indexes, a word concordance, introductions, outlines and pages that tell you how to use everything and help you find and understand things better. This Bible is the perfect tool for studying the scriptures and it will be a great Bible to pass down for generations and has a lifetime guarantee.
Full-Color charts, maps, and pictures.

My family had the privilege of trying the Drive Thru History® – “Acts to Revelation” from Drive Thru History® for this review to use in conjunction with our own homeschool curriculum. This is a Homeschool Review Crew Review. All opinions expressed are my own or those of my family.
Drive Thru History® is a great DVD series that makes history fun. These bring the history to life and engages the viewer in an exciting adventure and learning. How We Used This and Our Thoughts:
We love Drive Thru History and had a chance to review The Gospels physical DVD set and a one year subscription of Drive Thru History Adventures from them. Both were fabulous and so I knew that I wanted to participate in this as well.
We love The Drive Thru History® – “Acts to Revelation”! My family of 6 have been watching these with me. These are geared from a 5th grade level to adult, but my daughter who is 8 has enjoyed these as well. We have learned quite a bit along the journey and it has been an awesome one at that.
Drive Thru History® - “Acts to Revelation” has far exceeded our expectations. It comes with a colorful slipcase sleeve over a hard covered, DVD case sized, book that holds the three DVDs inside, two inside the front cover and one inside the back cover. The study guide is encased inside as well with full color glossy pages. It gives a very professional overall look.
Some of the places and ruins you get to see in "Acts to Revelation".
We love that these episodes testify of the things in the New Testament about the founding of the church with solid evidence that Dave uncovers. With his infectious enthusiasm and humor Dave's charm is irresistible. These episodes are also extremely visually engaging and full of rich content. Each episode is family-friendly, fascinating, intriguing, and compelling. I would imagine that nothing could compare to the Drive Thru History® – “Acts to Revelation” experience, except for if we had visited the Holy Land and surrounding areas ourselves.
Some of the graphics and special effects you get to see in "Acts to Revelation".
We have loved being a part of it and we felt as if we were there firsthand! Each episode has a summary of the last and then goes into more information. My sons liked it when Dave talked about his rig, the Land Rover as well. They also thought the part about the throat singer singing the tune of the theme song was cool and that the latrines in Rome were funny...especially the part about the rats biting unsuspecting users. There is an amazing amount of information in each of these and I loved all the background scenery of ancient sites and ruins and music that set the stage for Dave's lessons. There were also great graphics, special effects, and reenactments of the apostles' lives tucked in as well. I liked how he had the names of important places come up on the screen when these were in the background so we knew where he was at while he was lecturing.
After each episode we have gone to the study guide as a family and read and discussed together about what we have learned throughout the weeks. The Drive Thru History® – “Acts to Revelation” have inspired us to dig into this part of the New Testament as a family further. This has given us more of an appreciation of the history behind it. It has been eye opening to say the least. I am so glad we have this and "The Gospels" from Drive Thru History® because now we have the entire New Testament to watch the people, places, and events unfold before our eyes.
I highly recommend The Drive Thru History® – “Acts to Revelation”! Acts to Revelation curriculum is great for Christian families who wish to teach their children history from a Christian worldview. These would be great for both homeschooled and non-homeschooled families. This is great for a small group study, homeschool curriculum, church study, Family Home Evening Bible study, and Sunday School study.
So...Buckle up and get ready because you are in for an exciting ride!

We love that these episodes testify of Jesus of Nazareth with solid evidence that Dave uncovers about the New Testament and Christ. I liked how he had the names of important places come up on the screen when these were in the background so we knew where he was at while he was lecturing. We did however notice that there was a picture of Jesus being baptized by sprinkling. We believe in baptism by immersion...so this was discussed by my family in depth later for the younger ones to understand this better.

My bulbs pushing through the ground, ever upward to feel the sun.
I know that January is almost over, but I wanted to share with you all what I would love to accomplish this year, both off and on my blog. This is my time to reflect upon myself, the Lord, and my life. My resolutions like so many others are a window into what I would love to change, work on, and grow in.
As the first flowers of spring push through the ground ever upward to feel the sun, I am pushing ever upwards in my edification to be more like Christ, the Son of God.
My 2015 Resolutions and Goals
To Better Myself - This is a huge resolution that encompasses many aspects of my life.
I need to deepen in my faith in The Lord Jesus Christ and be more like him every step of the way. I need to also be more aware of what I do and say to become more Christ-like.
I would like to become more independent. I don't want to rely so heavily upon others.
A steady progression in my fiber arts studies (sewing, knitting, crochet) is also welcome.
I would like to continue my studies about herbs, herbal remedies, foraging, nutrition, and wild/raw foods.
My studies about permaculture and how to best apply it to our farm needs to also continue.
I would like to learn how to play the guitar and to continue advancing on violin (when I get another one).
My fitness regimen needs to be more than chasing kids around the house, shopping, and blogging.
I want to make living sustainably a part of my everyday life. Pushing for a more simplistic and less plastic/less waste lifestyle.
I would like to cook more healthy meals at home so we don't end up with unhealthy options like takeout or fast food. Growing and having my own healthy food (garden/orchard/greenhouse/aquaponics/chickens/quail) will help with this. Also creating a meal plan will help too.
Become a lot more involved with my children. Become a better role model and teacher for them.
I need to have a: more organized household and schedule. I need to plan better, be on time, and procrastinate less.
I know that I may not accomplish all of these goals, but I am willing to at least give it a try. I know that circumstances beyond our control sometimes get in the way of progression. Hopefully I can document my growth on here. This is the first installment in my posts about improvements I will be making this year...with me, my blog, and my homestead/farm.
