Bacon: Man's Best Friend's Best Friend #woofyeah Review

Prince and Pup-Peroni's new Filet Mignon & Bacon flavored treats.

Do you love bacon? I know I do! My dog Prince loves it to...who's dog doesn't??!! Pup-peroni has our pup saying 'woof yeah' this International Bacon Day!  His tail wags nonstop when he gets a taste of his favorite treats and just watching him so happy, makes me happy too. I love sharing moments of pure happiness with my pooch. There is no better feeling!

When I heard that International Bacon Day was in September I couldn't help myself. I had to celebrate this special day all month with my four-legged friend. Pup-Peroni's new treats are Filet Mignon & Bacon flavored and made of real Angus steak with a bold bacon-y flavor!! My pooch loves eating them as much as I love giving them to him. Prince enjoys Filet Mignon & Bacon flavor so much. These meat sticks have a soft-chewy texture that makes that tail wag so fast.

Prince loves Pup-Peroni's new Filet Mignon & Bacon flavor! Woof Yeah!

No matter how you celebrated 'International Bacon Day', your pooch will be saying "woof yeah" to the tasty flavor of Pup-Peroni Filet Mignon & Bacon treats!

Holiday Gift Guide 2011 CrazyDog Tshirts Periodic Element of Bacon Shirt Review

CrazyDog Tshirts has some great Tshirt Designs that have crazy sayings, humorous quotes and clever designs. I picked out one for my husband that I thought fit his personality well. The t-shirt is called the Periodic Element of Bacon Shirt and it reads Ba with smaller Bacon underneath and an atomic number of 121. I thought that this was awesome because of my husband's love of bacon, science, and his initials just happen to be B.A. :) He absolutely loved his gift from me. You can find this shirt in the Funny T-shirts section of the CrazyDog Tshirts website. The t-shirt is made from 100% cotton and feels soft to the touch.

These t-shirts would be great stocking stuffers or gifts to go under the Christmas tree this year. CrazyDog Tshirts has so many different ones to choose from. I am sure someone on your shopping list would be very happy with a great t-shirt from them.

Foodie Friday Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts and Guacamole Pasta

I never knew how yummy water chestnuts could be until I had tried bacon wrapped ones that my husband made me when we were newly married. I have made these before as appetizers and love to top different dishes with them as well.

Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts

Ingredients
8 ounces whole water chestnuts, drained
1/4 cup soy sauce
8 slices bacon, cut in half
toothpicks

Directions:
Marinate water chestnuts in the soy sauce for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375º F.
Wrap each chestnut with ½ strip of bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place the bacon-wrapped chestnuts on a baking cookie sheet.
Bake 25 minutes or until bacon is done and crisp. Remove from oven and drain off excess drippings. Remove toothpicks if topping another recipe with them.

Guacamole

Ingredients:
2-3 ripe avocados
1 onion, minced
2 ripe tomatoes, chopped
2 tablespoons cilantro leaves, finely chopped
1 whole fresh lime or lemon juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
A dash of Lawry's Seasoned Pepper
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 pinch ground cayenne pepper (optional)

Directions:
Cut avocados in half. Remove seed. Scoop out avocado from the peel, put in a mixing bowl. Throw peel away or compost. Using a fork, mash the avocado. Add the chopped onion, chopped tomato, cilantro, lime or lemon, salt, pepper, garlic and cayenne and mix. Cover with plastic wrap directly on the surface of the guacamole to prevent from turning brown. Refrigerate until ready.

Meal Directions:
Cook Angel Hair pasta by directions on the package. Top plate or bowl with angel hair pasta, then spread guacamole on top and place 3 bacon wrapped water chestnuts on top of that. Top all that with shredded cheddar cheese. Serve. Enjoy!
