Icebox Knitting XOB Upcycled Knit Cap Review

In the spirit of Spring which officially starts March 20th and Earth Day which is April 22nd I am featuring Icebox Knitting and their XOB Upcycled creations on my Spring Gift Guide this year. "Xob Upcycled hats and accessories (say Zob) employs this concept: upcycle what you've got and create fun!" They upcycle thousands of wool sweaters and suit jackets to make new things. They stitch together the useable pieces and accent them with boucle’ yarn turning them into new products and then recycle the rest of the textiles. This process is very earth friendly and the end product is unique and beautiful. They have hats, caps, arm warmers, hand warmers, mittens, headbands, scarves, pillows, sweater monkeys, stockings, blankets, and bags. They are available in the color options: blue/green, brown/tan, black/grey, or brights. Fabric patterns vary and are one-of-a-kind.

Icebox Knitting sent me a Knit Cap to review and my son, Jaedan, loved it! The one we received is in great gender neutral colors for both him and I to wear it. Although, I probably would have got one in pinks and purples like the other one in the picture above if I were buying one for myself. The cap is warm to wear in the brisk air and very well made. They make so many other different hats too not just this kind. I also love their Xobomber hats and their Pom hats too.

DISCLOSURE/DISCLAIMER: Thanks to ChicExecs, a company which was created to promote small business campaigns, I was able to let you know about this product. Icebox Knitting provided me with the product for free to try and review. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this review.

Faithworks Boutique Review and Giveaway

Faithworks Boutique is a great online store that has a beautiful selection of handmade boutique hair bows and hair accessories for baby all the way to big girl. Every hair accessory and bow is made custom at the time of order ensuring that you get exactly what you want with superb quality. There is a variety of sizes, styles, and colors to choose from.

I was initially introduced to Faithworks Boutique by my friend, Erin. I entered a contest for Faithworks Boutique on her blog, Connected2Christ blog and happened to win, but before I won I asked Faithworks Boutique if I could test and review something here on my blog. Brandy, the owner, said yes and I picked the Sweet Memories Flower Beanie to review. I then got the Double Ruffle Headband with a ribbon color of white and a headband color of shocking pink and the Double Swirly Petal Flower with a swirly ribbon of hot pink w/black swirl on top, apple green on bottom, and coordinating layered button center, and a fully-lined no slip double alligator clip for my winnings.

I really enjoyed selecting the colors and many, many options right down to what kind of clip I wanted. This made for a really unique gift for my daughter that I loved creating from all the choices. The clip was my favorite to create because it had the most options to choose from. When I received them in the mail I was very happy with the quality. They all turned out gorgeous and look how cute they made my daughter look! I also couldn't believe how good their prices are! They make beautiful upscale products at wonderful prices!

SafetyCaps Review and Giveaway

SafetyCaps are outlet covers/caps that are safer than regular outlet covers/caps. They were made by a father that almost lost his daughter when she choked on a regular outlet plug cover. SafetyCaps are 2 1/4 inches across. Other outlet plugs measure only 1 3/8 inches across. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Dorel Juvenile Group both puts out a Choke Hazard Tester or Small Parts Test Fixture (SPTF), a clear plastic tube that you can put things into to test out if they are a choking hazard. I too have one of these and tested this product out. Sure enough the SafetyCap didn't go in. You can buy one of these handy Small Parts Test Fixtures (SPTF) at OneStepAhead. I also had another brand of safety outlet cover (not going to mention what brand here) that I tested. It too didn't fit in the tube, but it was very close to fitting...too close for comfort! I could now see why the SafetyCaps were so much safer than regular ones.

Not only that but the SafetyCaps are clear so they blend in with the outlet cover whatever color it might be. If somehow swallowed they also have holes in the shield that are an added extra safety feature. The holes comply with US pacifier anti-choking regulations.

Win it! George at SafetyCaps is generously giving one 24 pack of SafetyCaps away for my blog giveaway.
