Itty Wigs are whimsical headbands for babies or toddlers with yarn pigtails and bows attached. The crochet headband is made from a stretchy ribbon material so it expands to fit the wearers head comfortably. The yarn pigtails are curly in ringlets that sit atop the head. These headbands are fun and fashionable for little girls with or without hair. These are sure to get a smile and a giggle out of passersby.
We received the Tooti Fruitti "Hair" with hot pink bows and a pink band & the Cinnabrown "Hair" with light pink bows and a white band. My youngest daughter, Zari, has a lot of hair for a 2 year old, but all my kids did at that age. We placed her hair in a ponytail in the back so we could showcase the hair accessories in the pictures, but these also look good with her hair down in my opinion. I really loved the look of the Tooti Fruitti "Hair" one the most on her, but I am really glad we got to try both. The Tooti Fruitti "Hair" is a combination of pinks, blues and sandy blonde colored yarn. I love this color combination! It was especially cute against the hot pink bows and pink headband. The Cinnabrown "Hair" has a cinnamon colored yarn with some lighter browns, dark browns and reds in it. My Zari likes to also wear hers when playing dress up and pretend. They are both adorable!
I've seen these mostly in pictures on babies and younger toddlers, but I think they look just as adorable on my little girl. Also I want to mention that I had another idea for these. Many little girls with cancer loose their hair because of radiation therapy or chemo and I thought these headbands would be adorable on them as well.
Itty Wigs has other colors to choose from too. They currently have Light Blonde, Medium Blonde, Tooti Fruitti, Cinnabrown and Midnight for the yarn (faux hair or fake hair) colors . Headband sizes come in infant to toddler & child to adult. The Headbands come in pink, white or black, but can be made custom in other colors as well. You can also specify the color of the bows that come with these and have them attached permanently or with clips so as to be able the wear them separately. You can also choose bows that are multi colored like: camo, patriotic (red, white and blue), or zebra stripe. They also have flower ones instead of bows to choose from and you don't even have to have bows or flowers if you don't want to. These are totally customizable, just ask first to see if what you want is available.

Canterbury Renaissance Faire
We went to the Canterbury Renaissance Faire on July 21, 2012. It is held in Silverton, Oregon on July 14th-15th, 21st-22nd, 2012. This was their 4th annual faire. Silverton is by Salem, Oregon and about 2 hours from where I live in Rainier, Oregon. It is only an hour from Portland, Oregon.
The Canterbury Renaissance Faire is wonderful because it is nestled in shady trees so it doesn't get too hot while your looking at other peoples' wares. We spent our day from 2pm til 5pm there.
I was wearing my pair of Elf Ear Wraps, my braided hair wreath and a semi renaissance looking shirt. I was looking for a cape or cloak, but never really ran across any while I was there this year. I was also looking for a lace up corset bustier. None really caught my fancy.
While we were there my youngest daughter, Zari, picked up a wooden sword. She looked so darling in her butterfly dress holding a sword we had to buy it for her. She is apparently growing into her name (Zari meaning princess goddess and her middle name Katana meaning slender or samurai sword). See the bottom left picture of her...that is her fighting face, LOL!
In Faerie Glen a juggler taught the boys some new tricks and my oldest son posed with his bow and some very odd arrows ;) Fairy Princess Lolly also read a story to my girls.
We went around the corner and who do I happen to see? Foxgloves PDX! I knew I was missing an element to my costume. I should have been wearing my Maroon Gold Knit Foxgloves. Ami posed with us and Teela tried on some maroon velvet/silver butterfly ones that I had fallen in love with on her website and out of generosity she just gave them to us! I love the picture my husband took of Teela getting the gloves on. Teela adored them and later wanted to pose with part of my son, Jaedan's knight costume that he brought.
We bought the boys an exquisite custom hand-beaded dragon from Secret Dragon Collectibles. My boys selected the only one left with glow-in-the-dark beads. The one they picked had blue iris, bright green and glow-in-the-dark beads. They told my boys that the dragons wings could be changed for different colors so they chose blue, apple green and red ones to go with the colors of the beads. They also got to pick out a treasure that the dragon would hold. They picked out a large red plastic gem stone and the lady sewed it in the dragon's claws. She then attached a thread from the top so we could hang him. Each dragon comes with a name card with information and insurance in case something needed fixing. They make them very customized so each is very unique and made just for the individual. She also makes beaded mermaids, fairies, pixies, butterflies and dragonflies. All were very beautiful!
Then we went to see the joust, but because it was not very shaded by trees it was very hot there and the horses were kicking up dust so I got a few pictures and then we decided it was time to head home to rescue our dog from being home alone. We had a great time while we were at the Canterbury Renaissance Faire and will definitely be back next year.

My "Brave" Experience
June 22nd Disney/Pixar's Brave opened in theaters across the country. I went to see it with my husband and my boys on July 1st in theaters. I kinda wished Disney/Pixar didn't put out so many trailers for the film as I felt as though I had seen most of it. But the high spirited flaming red-haired lass, Merida, was my favorite of course along with her triplet wee devil brothers and her horse Angus. Her mother Queen Elinor was also another one of my faves because of her role in the whole movie.
Here I am sitting in front of the movie poster at the theater with my free Brave Kid's Reusable Meal Bag my kids got me at Subway :) These are free with purchase of Subway Fresh Fit For Kids Meal. You can collect all 6. You can also possibly win free tickets to Brave with entry code that comes inside the bag. These are available while supplies last and only while the promotion is going on so hurry and get yours soon! I have the 'Merida and the Highlands' one so far.
I loved Merida's archery! I would love to be able to shoot arrows like that, especially while riding a horse! My oldest son Delbin got a trainer bow at the Pacific Northwest Sportsmen’s Show back in February and my husband just got him arrows and some bales of hay to practice on.
I've put this doll on my daughter's wishlist! This doll is by Tollytots and is of Merida with Angus. So cute!! I love horses! I also love their other dolls and they make other Merida ones too.
Also, look at this neat Brave - Aim For Your Dreams Disney Gift Card. You can get cool Disney gear with it at Disney Theme Parks and stores.
You can also download Brave Family Activity Sheets here.
Anyway, if you haven't seen Brave it is definitely worth watching. I enjoyed the movie very much. Have you seen it yet?

Faithworks Boutique Review and Giveaway

Faithworks Boutique is a great online store that has a beautiful selection of handmade boutique hair bows and hair accessories for baby all the way to big girl. Every hair accessory and bow is made custom at the time of order ensuring that you get exactly what you want with superb quality. There is a variety of sizes, styles, and colors to choose from.
I was initially introduced to Faithworks Boutique by my friend, Erin. I entered a contest for Faithworks Boutique on her blog, Connected2Christ blog and happened to win, but before I won I asked Faithworks Boutique if I could test and review something here on my blog. Brandy, the owner, said yes and I picked the Sweet Memories Flower Beanie to review. I then got the Double Ruffle Headband with a ribbon color of white and a headband color of shocking pink and the Double Swirly Petal Flower with a swirly ribbon of hot pink w/black swirl on top, apple green on bottom, and coordinating layered button center, and a fully-lined no slip double alligator clip for my winnings.

I really enjoyed selecting the colors and many, many options right down to what kind of clip I wanted. This made for a really unique gift for my daughter that I loved creating from all the choices. The clip was my favorite to create because it had the most options to choose from. When I received them in the mail I was very happy with the quality. They all turned out gorgeous and look how cute they made my daughter look! I also couldn't believe how good their prices are! They make beautiful upscale products at wonderful prices!

Monkey Business Sports Compound Bow X2 Toy Review and Giveaway
ABOUT MONKEY BUSINESS SPORTS:Monkey Business Sports builds every toy with the simple goal of: providing real fun out there in the real world, promoting healthy and active play, and staying on the cutting edge of innovation and toy safety so that they can bring quality toys with style and performance to your home. They have high performance foam toy shooters, hand-launched foam rockets, fun flyers, EZ lasso (as seen on the Late Show with David Latterman), tabletop sports, spider ball, etc.
ABOUT THE FOAMSTRIKE COMPOUND BOW X2:The Foamstrike Compound Bow X2 is great for target practice or distance challenge. The double powered bow comes with durable guide cord that latches into grooves of arrows and has X2 power aiming cords that launch the arrows over 100 feet! The wrist guard helps in the stability and accuracy. Comes with bow, 3 arrows, arrow ammo holder and sling. For left or right hand use.

MY THOUGHTS:
We received the camouflage Foamstrike Compound Bow X2 from MBS to test and review and I gave it to my boys who are 9 and 7 to try out. They absolutely had a blast! As you can see above my daughter, Teela, loved the box and the packing peanuts the bow and arrow came in the most :) When it came I was surprised, a cap with their logo on it had been thrown into the package as well. This toy bow and arrow set is great. Since it is camouflage it blends in to the surroundings and because the arrows are made of soft foam they don't hurt. Of course one has to still be careful about not hitting someone in the eye with it. Once my boys got the hang of the bow and arrows they could launch the arrow pretty far and accurately. Delbin, my oldest, aimed at Jaedan while he was running away and got him right on his hiney :) I would have thought a moving target would be more difficult, but the bow and arrow proved very accurate. The arrows when launched straight up into the air by my boys went a great distance and it was fun to watch them go so high and guess where they would land.
