Harry Connick Jr That Would Be Me Album Review #ThatWouldBeMe #O2O

We received this product free to facilitate this review. This post contains affiliate links which means I may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase. Thank you for supporting my blog!

Harry Connick, Jr. grew up in New Orleans, and it is here you will find the roots of his love for music and performing. He is a singer, actor, composer, pianist, philanthropist, husband, and father all wrapped up in one. At the age of 3 he learned keyboards and at the age of 5 he began performing. He has had several multi-platinum and gold albums, 25 million albums sold worldwide, Grammy, Tony and Emmy Awards; Oscar and Golden Globe nominations, and so much more. Although music is a big part of his career his family does come first. He has three daughters ranging in ages from 13-19 and a wife he has been married to since 1994.

That Would Be Me is the first album that Harry has stepped out of his comfort zone, both to work with producers Eg White (Sam Smith, Adele, Florence And The Machine) and Butch Walker (Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Pink) and to create the cover for the album which is a menagerie of instruments that completely form a picture of his face. I love the way he broke away from the norm. It shows that he can be great at more than just his usual. This album and new sound is such a wonderful change of pace.

My favorite tracks on this album are (I Like It When You) Smile, (I Think I) Love You A Little Bit and Songwriter. (I Like It When You) Smile is full of energy and has a great beat. (I Think I) Love You A Little Bit has a great groove and would be wonderful to slow dance to. I also think that Songwriter is has sort of a cool, funky 70's disco beat and I think the words to this song are sort of funny considering he is a songwriter.

Harry Connick Jr is a great musician and songwriter. I like his style and this new sound is great too. I would recommend this to anyone that loves Harry Connick Jr and wouldn't mind something new and refreshing from him.

Tracklisting:
  1. (I Like It When You) Smile
  2. (I Do) Like We Do
  3. Tryin’ To Matter
  4. Songwriter
  5. Do You Really Need Her
  6. You Don’t Need A Man
  7. You Have No Idea
  8. Where Prisoners Drown
  9. (I Think I) Love You A Little Bit
  10. Every Time I Fall In Love
  11. Right Where It Hurts

We received this product free to facilitate this review. This post contains affiliate links which means I may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase. Thank you for supporting my blog!

We Love Disney is a new album with a compilation of 12 artists performing popular Disney songs. This album was recently released by Verve Records and Walt Disney Records with multi-platinum, 16-time Grammy® Award-winning producer and Verve Music Group Chairman David Foster at the helm on October 30th. It is available on digital album, standard CD, Deluxe CD, Deluxe Vinyl, and as a picture-disc set. The featured artists that perform on this album are the hottest from the pop, rock, R&B, and country music scene and have made each song their own.

I love Disney music and this album is no exception. These artists are so very talented and bring their own unique interpretations to each Disney song. My favorites are the NE-YO version of Friend Like Me from Aladdin, Lucy Hale & Rascal Flatts' version of Let It Go from Frozen, Kacey Musgraves' version of A Spoonful of Sugar from Mary Poppins. The NE-YO's version of Friend Like Me from Aladdin has a great swing to it and I love the beat. We've all heard Let It Go from Frozen, but this country version from Lucy Hale & Rascal Flatts is awesome! I am a big fan of both artists. I also love the upbeat fast paced country remix of Kacey Musgraves' version of A Spoonful of Sugar from Mary Poppins because it is so much fun.

Watch NE-YO's swing version of Friend Like Me from Disney's Aladdin...

Seal 7 Album Review #Seal7 #O2O

We received this product free to facilitate this review. This post contains affiliate links which means I may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase. Thank you for supporting my blog!

Seal is a British soul and R&B, Grammy Award-winning multi-platinum singer-songwriter. His music has garnered many accolades and awards. He has a unique husky baritone voice that fans like my husband and I love.

7 is his 9th studio album and 7th full length album is set to be released on 6 November 2015 by Warner Bros. Records. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy to listen to and review. Seal explores the emotion of love in this album and all its complexities, eccentricities, and connections. To properly discover and accomplish the story of the words and music he reunited with his producer Trevor Horn.

As Seal puts it, “I tried to capture all of the wonderfully different dynamics of love, whether it’s the anger, the acceptance, the bliss, the sadness, the elation, or the recklessness. It’s this emotion and the ways it makes us feel. It’s about the extreme joy and the extreme regret as well as all of the crazy things love makes us do.”

This album is passionate, deep, profound, and sincere. Seal soulfully sings about the emotion love in multiple different ways that I believe are very identifiable with its listeners. The feelings in this album are really strong and the connection is very deep. My favorite songs on this album are Every Time I'm With You, The Big Love Has Died, and Love. Along with Seal's rich voice, I love the piano in Every Time I'm With You. The message is beautiful as well. The Big Love Has Died is a bit heart wrenching, but definitely relatable to anyone who has lost love. Love is my absolute favorite song on this album. Its climactic culmination in just voice and piano is the perfect ending to this album.

7 Tracklisting:
  1. Daylight Saving
  2. Every Time I'm With You
  3. Life on the Dancefloor
  4. Padded Cell
  5. Do You Ever
  6. The Big Love Has Died
  7. Redzone Killer
  8. Monascow
  9. Half A Heart
  10. Let Yourself
  11. Love

Andrea Bocelli Cinema Album Review #Cinema #O2O

We received this product free to facilitate this review. This post contains affiliate links which means I may receive a commission if you click a link and make a purchase. Thank you for supporting my blog!

You may know Andrea Bocelli as the famous Italian tenor that sang with Sarah Brightman on the song "Time To Say Goodbye". When ever I visit my sister in Las Vegas I absolutely have to see the gorgeous Bellagio Fountains that dance to this classical pop duet. I have always loved that song and many more from him. My mother and I have always been fans of Andrea Bocelli and we have enjoyed many albums of his because of his swoon worthy tenor voice. He has such awesome talent that his albums have sold over 80 million copies and he has recorded songs in five different languages: Italian, French, Spanish, English and Sicilian!

Cinema is Andrea Bocelli's newest album that is recently releasing under the Verve Records label on Oct. 23rd. It features a collection of songs from classic movies like West Side Story, Doctor Zhivago, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Evita, The Postman, The Godfather, Gladiator, and more. I recently received a download of the album to review and this album is a definite keeper. Even though I have heard most of these songs sung by others it is refreshing to hear them from Andrea Bocelli. His powerful, but soothing voice with the new arrangements are perfect together.

My absolute favorites from this album are E più ti penso from ‘Once Upon a Time in America /Malèna’ (duet with Ariana Grande), The Music of The Night from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, Brucia la Terra from ‘The Godfather’, and Nelle tue mani (Now We Are Free) from ‘Gladiator’. E più ti penso is a gorgeous duet and arrangement with Ariana Grande. They just glide together so well and the power behind their voices gives me goose bumps. The Music of The Night from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ is so lovely and I love the way he performs this dramatic piece. Brucia la Terra from ‘The Godfather’ is such a remarkable and emotional piece and it is heart wrenching when Andrea Bocelli sings it. Nelle tue mani (Now We Are Free) from ‘Gladiator’ is a very commanding song with a striking music video to go with it (see above). This was filmed in the Mojave desert and has a cameo appearance by two-time Academy Award nominee and Golden Globe winner John Travolta. I also love that Bocelli adds a horse to the mix as well. This is such an epic song.

Tracklisting:
  1. Maria from ‘West Side Story’
  2. La chanson de Lara from ‘Doctor Zhivago’
  3. Moon River from ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s’
  4. E più ti penso (duet with Ariana Grande) from ‘Once Upon a Time in America /Malèna’
  5. Be My Love from ‘The Toast of New Orleans’
  6. The Music of The Night from ‘The Phantom of the Opera’
  7. Brucia la Terra from ‘The Godfather’
  8. Por una cabeza from ‘Scent of a Woman’
  9. No llores por mì Argentina (duet with Nicole Scherzinger) from ‘Evita’
  10. L amore è una cosa meravigliosa from ‘Love Is A Many Splendored Thing’
  11. Mi mancherai from ‘Il Postino’
  12.  Cheek to Cheek (duet with Veronica Berti) from ‘Top Hat’
  13. Sorridi amore vai from ‘La vita è bella’
  14. História de amor from ‘Love Story’
  15. Ol Man River from ‘Show Boat’
  16. Nelle tue mani (Now We Are Free) from ‘Gladiator’
This album is well worth the purchase. It is a wonderful compilation of some of the greatest songs in cinema performed by a legendary artist. I highly recommend it.

Here, Home, Hope by Kaira Rouda Book Review

Here is a little about the book:
Here, Home, Hope by author Kaira Rouda is the fictional story of one woman's courageous journey through midlife crisis and personal reinvention - all told with a sense of heart and humor.

Kelly Mills Johnson becomes restless in her thirty-ninth year. An appetite for more forces her to take stock of her ordinary middle-American existence and her neighbors’ seemingly perfect lives. Her marriage to a successful attorney has settled into a comfortable routine, and being the mother of two adorable sons has been rewarding but exhausting. Meanwhile, Kelly’s own passions lie wasted. She eyes with envy the lives of her two best friends, Kathryn and Charlotte, both beautiful, successful businesswomen who seem to have it all. Kelly takes charge of her life, devising a midlife makeover plan.

Here, Home, Hope will surely appeal to readers of chick lit and other women’s fiction titles who are ready to transition into something new in their own life.

Visit KairaRouda.com to learn more about the author on her bio page and read more about the novel there.

My Thoughts:
This book is very down to earth and touches on very real issues that I feel most women could relate to. This book reminds me of the show Desperate Housewives a bit since it deals with a woman in her late 30th that is going through a midlife crisis and trying to change her life for the better. I like how she posts her thoughts about how she should change on post it notes so she will see them and remember. I myself have made various "dream boards" where I take clippings out of magazines or other places and tack them to my "dream board" to show what I would someday like to accomplish or what I would someday like my home to look like...etc. I have some of these as virtual "dream boards" on Pinterest. Although it would do me some good to act on some of those things and actually carry them out like the character in this book does with her own life when she reinvents herself. I found this book to be somewhat inspiring because I feel that I have a lot of things that I should be doing better in my own life and this book helped me realize that all great things are possible if you put your mind to them.

Here is the Video Trailer which tells more about the book...

Here are what some author's are saying about Here, Home, Hope:

Jenna Blum, New York Times bestselling author of Those Who Save Us and The Stormchasers, and one of Oprah’s Thirty Favorite Women Writers

”Reading Kaira Rouda is like getting together with one of your best friends – fun, fast, and full of great advice! Here, Home, Hope sparkles with humor and heart.”

Kaira is currently on a national book tour - check the calendar to see if she's coming to your area! You can connect with the author on twitter here and on Facebook here.

Cinch! by Cynthia Sass Review

With New Years just around the corner it is the perfect time to make New Years resolutions. My New Years resolution is to eat healthier with my new Vita-Mix blender and to actually do my daily aerobic workout.

One of the biggest resolution made on New Years is to loose weight. The obesity crisis in America costs the nation as much as $147 billion and an untold number of lives every year. Nearly two-thirds of American adults are either overweight or obese and childhood obesity is triple what it was a generation ago.

I just read an article about how one-third of 9-month-olds are already overweight or obese even before starting on solid foods! This to me is outrageous! I feel strongly that my choice to breastfeed exclusively has helped my children not be obese or overweight. I feel that formula is not as safe or as healthy for babies. Past and present recalls for formula make me even more thankful I don't use the stuff. I know not every woman can breastfeed exclusively or safely, but if given the chance should if circumstances allow. Formula is not the only thing that could lead to obesity. Not feeding your family a healthy well balanced meal and not exercising certainly does contribute also.

There is a book out that is being released soon called Cinch!. I received an prerelease of this book for free to read and review. This book has fabulous sounding recipes and a diet plan that doesn't involve irregular meal schedules, pills, binge eating, or undereating followed by rebound overeating. No more starving, restricting, or depriving yourself! This book will help you loose weight while still feeling energized, nourished, and satisfied. The recipes in this book like the Mediterranean Broccoli Couscous Platter and Zesty Cinnamon Basil Berry Tea are divine and so delicious!! I love the daily chocolate escape and the plan is so simple to follow. This is such a better, healthier way to diet!

The books author, Cynthia is appearing on The Early Show January 3 and The Rachael Ray Show January 5. Be sure to tune in to listen to Cynthia talk about the Cinch! plan.

...Featuring by Norah Jones Review

Norah Jones reminds me of Judy Garland for some reason. Probably her sultry voice and her new look on her newest album called ...Featuring. This album came out on November 16th. It combines the talents of Norah and other artists. This compilation of cameos, duets and collaborations were recorded from the past decade and shows Norah's diversity and musical spectrum. I love the songs with her and legends Ray Charles, Willie Nelson, and Dolly Parton. There are also 21st Century icons from OutKast to the Foo Fighters that she sings with. Ruler of My Heart really shows her best vocals on this album, in my opinion. I am a big fan of Dolly Parton so Creepin' In is one of my favorites from this album. It is so upbeat and fun! From jazz to country, hip-hop to rock this album has it all.
“A lot of the people on this record are people I've worshiped since I was a kid, and some of them are younger and more my contemporaries,” says Norah. “Even though the musicians are so varied, the vibe of the songs makes sense when we put them all together.”
For the latest news, tour dates and more, check out Norah's website, Facebook and YouTube Channel.

Tiger Suit by KT Tunstall Review

You might be familiar with KT Tunstall by her previous hits on the radio: the Grammy-nominated "Black Horse and the Cherry Tree", "Suddenly I See", "Other Side of the World" or "Hold On". When the album arrived at my house I immediately placed it in my CD player to listen to it. KT Tunstall has an interesting sound that I love. This CD is laced with organic instrumentation fused with music you can definitely dance to. KT has tagged this wonderful new style "Nature Techno". The album follows suit with the great music KT Tunstall trail blazes for her fans. I love the album’s mesh of deep seeded elemental sounds that immerse you in the album the moment it begins to the time it ends.

Laws of Illusion by Sarah McLachlan Review

The Grammy award winning, multi-platinum singer/songwriter, Sarah McLachlan, is one of my favorite music artists. I have been a fan of hers since I was in high school. I was sad when she decided to stop her touring and singing for a time, but I fully understood why she did it. She wanted to be with her kids, India Ann Sushil who is 8 and Taja Summer who is 3, and now she is back! I was thrilled when I saw that One2One Network was doing a campaign to promote her first studio album in 7 years!! I signed up right away and am so happy to be a part of this. Her newest album, Laws of Illusion, comes out today, June 15th, in stores just weeks before the kick off to Lilith Fair 2010, the historic all women touring festival, founded by McLachlan!! One2One sent me a 4 song sampler from the CD before I actually received the album. I had a pre-listening party with some of my friends that also enjoy her work. It was great! I love Sarah's voice! I can listen to her over and over again. I love all her albums and all her songs. It is so hard for me to pick a favorite because I love them all! Every one of Sarah McLachlan’s studio and live albums has been certified gold, platinum, or multi-platinum by the RIAA, Recording Industry Association of America, she is that good!

Sarah's marriage of 11 years to her band’s drummer, Ashwin Sood, was dissolved in 2008. This album which is her first since that time was formed by emotions she had and still has about that whole experience. Laws of Illusion talks about the pain of breaking up and the whole ball of wax that goes with it. The words are depressing, but very poetic. All of the songs except one on the album are written by Sarah and some with her producer, Pierre Marchand. Her feelings flow through the songs. Besides Sarah's great voice I love the background piano, keyboard, drums/percussion, guitar, and sometimes bass that make up her great band! I love the addition of the trumpet and horn in "Out of Tune" and the cello in the piano version of "Love Come". It was definitely worth the wait!!

Check out Sarah's listening party on her Facebook page starting June 7th at 10am, so become a fan on Facebook to be the first to hear her awesome new album. You can also follow her on Twitter and see her perform on Jay Leno. You can download a free Laws of Illusion booklet HERE.

TRACKLISTING:
01. Awakenings
02. Illusions Of Bliss
03. Loving You Is Easy
04. Changes
05. Forgiveness
06. Rivers Of Love
07. Love Come
08. Out Of Tune
09. Heartbreak
10. Don’t Give Up On Us
11. U Want Me 2
12. Bring On The Wonder
13. Love Come (Piano Version)

Besides Sarah MacLachlan the Lilith Fair is also making a comeback and I am going to try and go!! In years past, Lilith Fair has raised more than $10 million for women’s charities. This summer I can't wait when Sarah Mclachlan and other female artists join to perform on stage here in Portland, Oregon on July 2nd!! It has been more than 10 years since Lilith Fair's last performance and this is going to be one big awesome revival! I moved my OBGYN appointment to the 5th of July because it was supposed to be on the same day as the Lilith Fair and I plan on going!! Follow the Lilith Fair on Twitter. Fan/Like them on Facebook.

Laws of Illusion is only $9.99 on Amazon or you can get the Deluxe CD/DVD version which has music videos on it too for only $12.99 on Amazon. The fan pack via the Sarah McLachlan store is $39.99 in which you get an exclusive tote bag designed by Sarah McLachlan, Laws Of Illusion on vinyl, Laws Of Illusion Deluxe CD/DVD, 2 exclusive 12"x12" Lithographs, instant download of "Forgiveness (Acoustic)"(exclusive MP3 you can only get with a Laws Of Illusion order from Sarah's official music store), and instant download of "Heartbreak".

Stacy's Pita Chips Review

I received 2 free bags of Stacy's Pita Chips to try out and review from One2One Network. I first tried the Parmesan Garlic and Herb kind and then the Simply Naked ones I was sent. These are both fabulous all-natural chips! I love the Simply Naked ones dipped in various yummy dips or paired with cheese. The crunch of these are something else! Nothing like a regular chip. They take a basic pita, add all natural seasoning, then twice-bake it to perfection. The Parmesan Garlic and Herb ones were so good I couldn't stop eating them. My kids loved them too. These are perfect for entertaining guests and have zero trans fats so they are a healthier option than other things too. They are so truly addictive!

They have other delicious flavors too. Besides the two I tried there is Cinnamon Sugar, Tuscan Herb, Naturally Cheddar, Multigrain and two new flavors Garden Vegetable and Italian Harvest. They also have Baked Bagel Chips in Simply Naked, Everything and Toasted Garlic and Baked Soy Crisps in Sweet BBQ, Simply Cheese, and Sticky Bun.

My mother doesn't live that far away so I get to see her more often than a lot of people do their mothers. Above is a picture of her with my daughter, Teela, when my daughter was a newborn. My mom is wonderful and I am so very grateful she is around to help when things get stressful or just when I need her. I am comforted by her not just on the phone long distance, but since she only lives 3 hours from me she can visit. When my daughter, Teela, had her birthday party on the 9th of April she was there and when my daughter, Tatiana, passed away she was also there. I am glad we don't live too far away from each other. A while back I wrote about my mother and how she was there for my family and I...especially for my daughter Tatiana (I didn't mention there, but my dad had been just as helpful with her.). They both miss her just as much as we do because they got to know her quite a bit. I am very thankful to both my parents for all their help and support!!

Give Up The Ghost by Brandi Carlile Review

ABOUT BRANDI CARLILE:
Born in the small town of Ravensdale, WA, Brandi Carlile grew up listening to the classic country music her parents loved (Patsy Cline remains Carlile's favorite singer). She made her first stage appearance at the age of 8 after she was taken to a local country radio show by her mother. At 17 she was inspired to learn to play guitar after seeing the Indigo Girls in concert at Lilith Fair and having developed a taste for rock & roll through Elton John's classic albums of the 1970s (Tumbleweed Connection is one of her favorites) she began hitting the clubs in Seattle, playing anywhere she could get a gig. While playing, she heard a band called the Fighting Machinists, featuring twin brothers Tim Hanseroth on guitar and Phil Hanseroth. Carlile became an instant fan and when the group broke up she persuaded the Hanseroth twins to form a group with her. In 2005 Carlile was signed to Columbia Records, releasing a self-titled album later that same year. Her last album, The Story, debuted on Billboard's Top 200, peaking at #2 on iTunes and was named one of VH1's "You Oughta Know" artists. Also many of her songs were featured on various episodes of "Grey's Anatomy". She's toured with Tori Amos, Dave Mathews Band, Sheryl Crow and many others.

Add her on Myspace. Fan her on Facebook.

ABOUT GIVE UP THE GHOST:
Give Up The Ghost was released by Columbia Records on October 6th. Brandi's dream was realized recording Give Up The Ghost. She got the opportunity to work with her idol, Elton John. “Brandi has an amazing voice,” he says. “She’s a great songwriter and has a tremendous career ahead of her.” The album was recorded at Sunset Sound in Hollywood, birthplace of legendary recordings by The Doors and Led Zeppelin. The first single, “Dreams,” was written with her longtime bandmates, twin brothers Tim and Phil Hanseroth. The CD includes special guest appearances by Sir Elton John, Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls and Benmont Tench of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.

MY THOUGHTS:
I was given downloads of all her songs on the Give Up The Ghost album by One2One Network to review. Brandi was here in Portland, OR on Oct 22 at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and I wish I could have gone to the concert...maybe next time she tours. Her CD, Give Up The Ghost, is fabulous! I am a big fan of the Indigo Girls and Brandi worked with Amy Ray of the Indigo Girls on this CD! My friend commented while I was listening to her music that Brandi reminds him of Radio Head. You can really hear the influence of Elton John in the song Caroline! Elton John is a great performer and artist! If you like Indie pop or folk rock you will LOVE her. Her voice is rich and strong. I love singing along with this CD! I could not pick just two songs as my favorite. My favorite songs on this CD are Looking Out, Dying Day, Caroline (about Brandi's niece) and Touching The Ground.

One of the radio stations I listen to out here in Oregon is Kink FM and they had her perform at their Live Performance Lounge. Here is her performing Dreams there...

BUY IT:
Buy this CD on Amazon.com for only $8.49! You can also go listen to samples of the songs there too.

Keeping My Family Healthy During Cold & Flu Season

Yes, it is cold and flu season and H1N1 influenza (Swine flu) is going around. I know you have heard a lot lately about taking precautions and avoiding people who are sick. Here are ways my family tries to stay healthy during this time...

Contain and Get Rid of the Germs: Wash your hands or use hand sanitizer regularly and avoid touching your eyes, nose, or mouth which can spread any virus you may have picked up on your hands to your body. Cover your coughing and sneezing. Cough into your sleeve (the bend of your elbow) or a tissue/Boogie Wipe not your hands. Don't stifle a cough and don't sniff the mucous back into your lungs. Sneezing, blowing your nose, and coughing are a must when trying to expel germs from the body. Have good hygiene and brush your teeth/tongue/gums regularly.

Try to stay away from others who are sick and if you get sick try to stay home. Disinfect your house. We use chlorine bleach, ultra-violet light, isopropyl alcohol, hydrogen peroxide, tea tree oil, or vinegar to disinfect things in our home. Let some fresh air in and don't over heat your house. Overheating and not ventilating properly will only make the air in your home stagnant, stale and dry. Lack of humidity causes our nose and tonsils to dry out so they cannot trap germs efficiently. When this happens it becomes difficult to sneeze and cough. Turning down the thermostat and turning on a room humidifier keeps virus-laden mucus flowing out of your body. As gross as it is you need to get it out of your system.

Be Good to Yourself: Get plenty of rest. Remember the old saying: Early to bed, Early to rise, Makes a person healthy, wealthy and wise. There is a lot of truth to that saying. Eat healthy and don't skip breakfast. Avoid refined sugars, high fructose corn syrup and caffeine. Take vitamins and supplements (We take extra vitamin C when it is cold and flu season). Get plenty of fluids. Green tea, water, herbal teas and soups can help tremendously. Orange juice is also great because of the vitamin C. Avoid alcohol and tobacco products (I don't drink alcoholic beverages or smoke anyway). Your immune system needs a boost to help your body not become ill. Exercise and managing stress is also very important.

Here is one of my favorite soup recipes:

Cheesy Chicken Chowder
Servings 6

1 package bacon, diced, cooked, drained
6 medium red potatoes, washed, chopped
2 stalks celery, diced
1 large carrot, grated
1 medium onion, minced
4 large chicken breasts, cooked, diced
2 cans cream of chicken soup, condensed
2 cans whole kernel corn, drained
1 stalk broccoli flowerets
2 cups cheese, shredded
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon thyme leaver
2 cups sour cream
1 1/2 cups milk

In a large sauce pan cook the bacon and remove when crisp. Save a couple of teaspoons of fat in the pan and add the potatoes , onions, celery, and carrots. Cook until the veggies are tender (about 20 minutes). When the veggies are tender add the broccoli, corn, chicken, spices, soup and milk. Stir until all is smooth and warm then add the sour cream and cheese and stir on low heat until cheese is melted.

Use Natural or Homeopathic Remedies/Medicines: Have you ever tried homeopathic medicines? Homeopathy is a therapeutic method used to help the body re-balance and heal itself using natural substances in micro-doses. My family uses homeopathic and natural remedies/medicine and vitamins and minerals to help us stay well or get over illness sooner. We have successfully used Emergen-C, Airborne, Cold Eeze, colloidal silver, Boogie Wipes, saline nose drops, extra vitamin C, zinc lozenges, and tea.

I haven't tried them yet, but I just learned about 3 new homeopathic medicine for kids that are made by Boiron, the world leader in homeopathy, through One2One Network: Children's Oscillococcinum®, Children's Coldcalm Pellets®, Children's Chestal®.

In case you want to try them out yourself HERE is a link to a $1 off coupon for Boiron's new children's products.

Grammy Award-winning violinist Joshua Bell has been in the spotlight since he was 14 years old and has played since the age of 4. The Left Hand Song featuring Regina Spektor is a fan-favorite and has never been recorded until now! At Home With Friends is your only chance to own this song. You don’t want to miss this opportunity. Order At Home With Friends now!

MY THOUGHTS:
Many of you probably don't know this about me, but I started playing the violin in 5th grade. I loved it, but wasn't very good at reading music. I played the violin right up until college. I have always been petite and when I grew out of my three quarter size violin after 12th grade I sold it and haven't found the perfect full size violin yet. The full size violin is the largest size and so probably the last violin I will ever get. I hope to find the perfect one someday.

When I saw Joshua's 300-year-old Stradivarius beauty that he paid a little under 4 million dollars for and I had to stop myself from drooling. Then I heard the album At Home With Friends and the music coming from Joshua and his treasure was fantastic! Joshua truely found his perfect violin.

Joshua recently converted his Manhattan home to accommodate musical gatherings and he's taken that concept and incorporated it into the whole feel of this album. He's brought together some of his friends he has come to know over the years and they are some outstanding friendships! I am a little envious.

This album is diverse and wonderful! My favorite song on the album is a toss up between Cinema Paradiso with Josh Groban and Variant Moods: Duet for Sitar and Violin! I am already a huge fan of Josh Groban and I love world music! Joshua Bell is an outstanding violinist and his love for the music shows greatly. I am going to have to go and seek out more of his music for my collection now.

MY THOUGHTS:
I love all kinds of music and that is why I chose to review this CD from Harry Connick, Jr. I needed something new in my collection. This CD I am told is a lot less jazzy and more easy listening than his other CDs. Yes, maybe to some, these songs are reminiscent to elevator tunes, but one could also point out that is why these are timeless and everyone knows them...or should! Harry's jazzy crooning style is just what I needed. His smooth voice reminds me a little of a young Frank Sinatra. My mother's love of old classic musicals and music has given me a taste of the classics. All of the songs that Harry sings are ones that I recognize and can sing along to. If you haven't been introduced to Harry go take a listen HERE. You can also preview the music on Your Songs HERE.

MY THOUGHTS:
This is by far the best edition pack Disney has put together for the Blu-ray player or Playstation 3 owner. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a classic tale that will never get old. The restoration of this film is beautiful! The quality is amazing! It is so much crisper and cleaner than the VHS we have. My children and I enjoyed watching it. I also enjoyed watching their faces, especially of my youngest, Teela, because she has never watched it before. She giggled at the Dwarfs giving Grumpy a bath and danced when the Dwarfs and Snow White were dancing. My son, Delbin's, favorite part was when Dopey swallowed the soap. My son, Jaedan's, favorite part was when the animals were rushing to get the Dwarfs to save Snow White and the Dwarfs were riding the deer. My favorite part is the wishing well scene...such wonderful animation for that time! Watching this brought back so many great memories of when I watched it as a child.

All Join In by Kenny Loggins Review

I was given the opportunity to get, listen to, and then review the pre-release of Kenny Loggins' new CD All Join In. I was anxious to get it in the mail and give it a listen because I really enjoyed his album 'Return to Pooh Corner' and 'More Songs from Pooh Corner'. I love music that is wholesome and great for kids as well as adults and this CD was just that.

The first song, Underneath the Same Sky, is from the album and movie Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too of the animated TV series from Playhouse Disney, My Friends Tigger and Pooh. Its lyrics sort of remind me of the song Somewhere Out There from the animated movie An American Tail. Both songs tell that even though we are far apart we are underneath the same sky and feel closer together because of this. I love the harmonica in this one. Here is the Kenny Loggins - Underneath The Same Sky Music Video.

The next song, All Together Now, is one you've probably heard sung by the Beatles, John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the movie Yellow Submarine. This is Kenny Loggins fun take on the Beatles' classic.

The third song, You Got A Friend In Me, is Randy Newman's theme for Disney's animated movie Toy Story. No offense to Randy Newman, but I like Kenny's vocals better on this one. Just my opinion though.

The forth song, Two Of Us, is another Beatles song you have probably heard sung by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Kenny got to sing it with his pal Jimmy Messina who he hadn't sung with in 30 years on a record. Well overdue I would say!

The fifth song, Come Go With Me, is a "Doo-Wop" song sung by the Del Vikings before my time. Even though this song was before my time I often heard it while sitting in the backseat of my parents car when I was little. It is an oldie, but a goodie! Kenny sings it well :)

The sixth song, There Is a Mountain, is an upbeat catchy song. I love the great imagery in it where the caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Kenny sings with his youngest daughter of just 11 years, Hana. Here is the Kenny Loggins - There Is A Mountain Music Video. Here is
the making of There Is A Mountain Music Video.

The seventh song, The Puppy Song, gives a voice to children everywhere that have ever wanted a dog. Kenny sings this with his daughter, Bella.

The eighth song, You Can All Join In, is a great upbeat song that you really want to clap to. It is where Kenny got the title of this album. Kenny Loggins is appropriately joined by the song's writer and former Traffic member, Dave Mason.

The ninth song, Gandhi/Buddha, is written and originally sung by Cheryl Wheeler. Kenny intends this to be a song sung about the feelings of parents for their children...as it says in the song, "I must have done something right to get to have you.". This song could be interpreted different ways, just try to see it as Kenny intended it.

The tenth song, Long Tailed Cat, is a song written by Kenny and is featuring Leon Russell and Kenny's sons, Cody and Luke. It has a Dixie feel to it and a great New Orleans beat.

The eleventh song, Your Lollipop, is based heavily upon the 2007 hit song, "Lollipop" by Mika. It is sung on this album by Kenny and a nine year old named Matthew Schaeman. This song has a great way of getting stuck in ones head!

The twelfth song, Moose 'n Me, is written by Kenny and is a heartwarming song about his first dog. In the background his eldest son Crosby scats and does some solo work throughout the song.

The thirteenth song, 1234, is writen by Leslie Feist and Sally Saltmann. I love this song and Kenny does a great version with his daughter Hana singing while jumping rope! On a slightly different note I have to share the Feist Sesame Street version with you because it is also very fun!

If you go here you can print some things for the kids to color and some All Join In bookmarks.

All Join In is not available to purchase until 12/28/2009 (according to Walmart). In the meantime put it on your wishlist and go listen to some of the songs on the album all the way through.

Kenny Loggins and his musical partner Jim Messina will embark on a national tour August 20.

For the latest news, tour dates and info check out KennyLoggins.com, Facebook and Twitter.
