My family really dislikes getting eaten by mosquitoes! Our Oregon weather seems to breed them by the thousands and our farm is by a tributary that flows into the Columbia River a ways off from us. The mosquitoes love coming out in the evening time when the heat has died down and it is a little cooler out. That is when I also love to entertain guests outdoors as well.

The new Stinger All Natural Mosquito Repellent Lantern is a device that repels mosquitoes up a to 15' X 15' area (225 sq. ft.) for up to 12 continuous hours per pad. An ultra-quiet fan diffuses repellent into the air using plant-based, all-natural active ingredients. No heat needed to disperse the scent and it is smokeless.

Stinger Mosquito Repellent Lantern is attractive and functional.

The lantern is easy to operate. After putting in the batteries you place the repellent pad into a drawer located in the side of the lantern. Then you switch on the 3-way power switch that is located to the right of the pad drawer. It has 3 modes. If you switch the toggle to the left the repellent and lantern will operate. If you switch it to the right the lantern will only be on. The middle position is for turning it off. I wish it also had a switch to have it in just repellent mode with no light, but it doesn't. Also if the light bulb inside burns out, there is no way of getting in to replace it. However, it is better than a citronella candle because it won't have to be relit every time a wind blows and there is no hot wax to contend with.

The repellent pads use a powerful plant-based, all-natural active ingredients of essential oils that have been proven to ward off mosquitoes. The active ingredients include: Geraniol (55%), Peppermint Oil (2.5%), Rosemary Oil (2.5%), and Lemongrass Oil (2.5%). Cellulose (37.5%) makes up the last ingredient. The no spill method of installing the pads is not at all messy. Make sure you wash your hands after handling because these essential oils are concentrated and can cause skin irritation. These oils have a very pleasant smell.

The aesthetically pleasing design is perfect for when you want to entertain outdoors. It has an elegant, decorative vine and leaf pattern that silhouettes against the blue LED light of the lantern. It reminds me of a fairy light (something out of Tinker Bell). Lantern is made of durable plastic so it won't break as easily as glass lanterns. You can also place it on a flat surface or hang it wherever protection is needed. It is small, but effective. The soothing blue illumination is a dimly lit accent lighting that isn't really for seeing by or reading with. The very faint glow is always on when the lantern is on and working.

Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care Review and Soft Scrub Coupon Giveaway

I received Soft Scrub® 4-in-1 Toilet Care for free to facilitate this review and free coupons to giveaway.

I received the Soft Scrub® 4-in-1 Toilet Care and I love most Soft Scrub products, but this one is way overpowering in scent and makes me sneeze and cough. I could even smell it through the box. If it was just a chlorine smell or a slight bleach smell that would be better in my opinion than the overpowering smell of Alpine Fresh plus the bleach smell. I don't think I would like the other scent, Sapphire Waters, any better, but it might be better than this one.

I ended up placing it on my farm house home toilet because it is a house I am not living in at the moment because it is being totally remodeled inside. It was easy to install. All you have to do is unfold the hanger and place it on the toilet bowl rim. It fit very nicely. Then you flush and make sure it is in the flow of water. Once the hanger cage is empty you can dispose of the plastic hanger cage and replace when needed.

Forgive me of the uncleanliness of the bathroom in the picture, but since we are remodeling we really haven't kept it perfect. This house is on well water and we haven't filtered it yet so there is major rust stains in the toilet. I was hoping it would help remove those. When ever we were over there and help with the remodel process we would give the toilet some flushes so that it was like it was being used and the product could actually be tested.

This product is placed in toilet bowl with a rim hanger not in the tank like most toilet cleaner tablets I've seen. Also this isn't really a tablet, but 4 balls in a plastic cage. It is supposed to slow down dissolving of the product, keep the product in place, and allow for the flow water to activate the toilet cleaner with each flush. It hung above the water level in my toilet so it doesn't dissolve unless the toilet is flushed. It is also supposed to clean the toilet, prevent future buildup, fight toilet ring and freshen up to 4 weeks. It comes in 2 fragrances: Alpine Fresh (fragrance with bleach) and Sapphire Waters (fragrance without bleach).

One of my most hated chores in my home is cleaning the toilet. This product is really supposed to be used in between cleanings so you don't have to clean the toilet as often so, I wasn't sure if this would work on a toilet which had rust stains sitting on the inside of the bowl for who knows how long. It minimized the stain some and I think over the course of the products life will a lot more. I will post after pictures when I get them later.

Victorian Station Review

Victorian Station is an Etsy store I came across when looking for items to review for my daughter Teela's 2nd birthday party. This wonderful shop has lovely things that center around vintage, Victorian, shabby chic, French, and cottage style. They have homemade albums, magnets, journals, notebooks, gift tags, cards, vintage photos, shadow boxes, burlap and collage art, purses and handbags, sachets and pillows.

I received a free set of 3 heart shape sachets filled with 1 cup of lavender buds from France and a touch of flax seed to review for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. The flannel material has cupcakes, strawberries and flowers on it and I love the fabric. They were great substitutes for bean bags to play games with at the party. They were all tied up with pretty pink satin ribbon when they arrived and smelled absolutely divine! These are perfect size for Teela to hold and she also loved how they smelled. They will go nicely anywhere there needs to be the soothing and relaxing fragrance of lavender. I think we might tuck ours in a: pillow case with a pillow at night, chest full of linens, and room that needs refreshing. I also love the Cupcake bag with vintage pompoms that matches the sachets that I received from her shop.
