TIME For Kids Big Book of Where Review

I received this book for free to facilitate this review.

I love books that teach my children and are engaging enough to keep my kids' attention. The Big Book of Where from TIME for Kids does just that. It has 801 facts kids want to know and is broken up into regions. The book has a question at the top of the page and then an explanation that answers the question. Each question has a globe that locates where in the world and a map zeros in on particular places. The pages have colorful photos and pictures too and information boxes in the sidebars that expand upon the topics. Each region has its own color border at the bottom of each page so you can quickly see what chapter you are in.

This 192-page book, recommended for kids 8 to 12 years old has 10 chapters, which include: Home, North America, South America, Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia and Oceana, Antarctica, The Oceans and Space. Readers will travel away from the comforts of home and jump into the seven continents, take a dive deep under the sea and venture out into the solar system. Along the way, they'll discover some surprising facts about different customs, sports, history, and animals from around the world.

Answer questions such as:
  • Where you can find the most poisonous snake?
  • Where electricity comes from?
  • Where is the tallest mountain?
  • Where did the Olympics begin?
  • Where is the Petrified Forest?
  • Where are diamonds found?
  • Where was the hamburger invented?
  • Where does spam go after you delete it? - And much more!
My boys devoured this book. They read it from cover to cover and were wanting more. They absolutely love this type of book. They loved reading and learning about the facts in this book. My sons were wishing he had other books in the series. This book is very well laid out and chapters are easily found. This book is a great homeschooling tool.

This is the kind of book my kids would enjoy. Heck, I'd probably find it interesting to read too.
