CSN Stores Review and Giveaway

As I said before in my teaser post, I have been given the chance to review and giveaway a toy from ToysandGamesOnline, a CSN Store. There are many toys and games on this website that are great for development, learning, exploration and creativity.

CSN Stores has over 200 other stores too ranging from housewares to pet stores online. So, there probably isn't anything you won't be able to find there and if you can't find it now they are always adding stores to their website so you might just find it down the road.

I received the Cutting Food Box Play Set by Melissa & Doug for free to review from CSN Stores and since I received it around Teela's birthday party in April I decided it would be a great gift to give her then. I wanted to add on to Teela's first set of wooden food from Melissa & Doug, the Wooden Food Groups set, and have a bit more variety with the fruits and veggies. This new set also does something that the first set didn't. It lets Teela cut the wooden food into "pre-sliced" sections with a wooden knife and makes a nice "crunching" sound as she slices them because of the Velcro that are holding them together. I can teach her part, whole and fractions at a very early age and she can have fun putting the sections back together with the Velcro. She likes to put them back together in funny ways :p This Cutting Food Box Play Set is very safe and Teela can pretend to cook and cut without any owies. The set comes with 31 pieces including: smooth sanded and nicely painted play food made of solid wood and non toxic paints (sliced bread, loaf of bread, green pepper, tomato, watermelon, carrot, apple and cucumber) a cutting board, a crate to put it all into and a wooden knife to slice the play food. This set is recommended for ages 3 and up, but my 2 year old daughter, Teela, was ready for it and was having fun learning to slice the play foods.

Victorian Station Review

Victorian Station is an Etsy store I came across when looking for items to review for my daughter Teela's 2nd birthday party. This wonderful shop has lovely things that center around vintage, Victorian, shabby chic, French, and cottage style. They have homemade albums, magnets, journals, notebooks, gift tags, cards, vintage photos, shadow boxes, burlap and collage art, purses and handbags, sachets and pillows.

I received a free set of 3 heart shape sachets filled with 1 cup of lavender buds from France and a touch of flax seed to review for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. The flannel material has cupcakes, strawberries and flowers on it and I love the fabric. They were great substitutes for bean bags to play games with at the party. They were all tied up with pretty pink satin ribbon when they arrived and smelled absolutely divine! These are perfect size for Teela to hold and she also loved how they smelled. They will go nicely anywhere there needs to be the soothing and relaxing fragrance of lavender. I think we might tuck ours in a: pillow case with a pillow at night, chest full of linens, and room that needs refreshing. I also love the Cupcake bag with vintage pompoms that matches the sachets that I received from her shop.

DISCLAIMER: Thanks to Victorian Station for participating in the the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival on my blog and for providing me with the 3 heart shape sachets for free to test and review. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this review.

Flutterbye Dreams Review

Flutterbye Dreams is a small shop on Etsy that makes hair clippies, felt finger puppets, mitten clips, soother clips for binkies, felt cookies, felt crowns, felt tooth fairy pillows, and other creations. These creations are handmade and hand sewn in Canada and are very well made.

I received a colorful assortment of 5 felt cookies (one red, purple, orange, pink and blue) and a felt princess crown for free to review for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. The felt cookies looked good enough to eat! They are embellished with felt icing & sprinkles that are little sparkly beads! The beads are very securely stitched so they won't come off easily. They are a great addition to any play kitchen. This was Teela's first felt food and she thought it was great! The felt pink princess crown was so adorable on Teela and I know she will love to play dress up with it a lot. Flutterbye Dreams definitely pays attention to detail. The crown and the cookies are both perfect for pretend play.

DISCLAIMER: Thanks to Flutterbye Dreams for participating in the the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival on my blog and for providing me with the felt cookies and a felt Princess crown for free to test and review. AddieBugs Review

I was searching for the perfect fabric banner for Teela's 2nd birthday party in April and found one at AddieBugs on Etsy! AddieBugs gave me a free Princess Happy Birthday Re-Useable Fabric and Felt Banner to review for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. Not only did it have Disney Princesses on it, but it said Happy Birthday too :)

Teela loved it too and recognized some of the Disney princesses on it. Click on the picture and you can see it better. It was such a nice touch to her princess tea party theme! I hung it where everyone could see it in our living room as they came in for the party. It was a big hit! I think these fabric banners are so much better than the paper or plastic ones that you can get because you can re-use them and they are very well made. These are such a great decoration for any party, birthday, celebration or holiday.

Lalo Treasures Review and Happy Birthday to Me

Lalo Treasures is the brand developed by Israeli designer Orna Lalo. Orna, a graduate in art and fashion design, has been creating her works of resin home accessories and jewelry for over 20 years. Bulgaria is where her inspiration and fascination of color and design flowed freely. This is why her pieces are individually hand crafted and assembled by women in the local villages surrounding Orna's factory in Bulgaria. I love that the pieces are very uniquely designed and make me smile every time I see them...which is exactly what Orna had in mind. Retail prices range from $30 up to $240.00.

Today it is my birthday! Happy Birthday to me :) I love fashion and whimsical things speak to me! I saw the Lalo Treasures store on ChicExecs and had to have a piece of her collections for my birthday. I didn't know which one they would send me so it was a surprise when it arrived.

I received a fairy keyring 4789 from the The birds & the Beads collection to review and see for myself. I luv how funky and colorful it is. These pieces are made wonderfully and Orna's artwork is so much fun! I wish all her pieces were available to the USA, but as I found by looking at the other international sites a lot of them are not. Most, however; are reasonably priced and you can change the currency on the website to something other than dollars if desired. I love all of the Ocean Tales collection and the Keyring L&F which has a cool striped pony.

DISCLAIMER: Thanks to ChicExecs, a company which was created to promote small business campaigns, I was able to let you know about this product. I received a sample from Lalo Treasures free of charge. All information about the products I received from the products, ChicExecs, and information from the Lalo Treasures website. My thoughts are mine and my family's own opinion and have not been altered by anyone else. I did not receive any other compensation for doing this review.

Oh Nelly Review

Oh Nelly is a great little shop that I came across on Etsy when looking for homemade and handmade items for my daughter Teela's 2nd birthday party in April to review on my blog. My daughter was having a princess tea party theme and so I ran across Oh Nelly's fabric tea sets and thought they looked like fun!

I was thrilled when I received one before my daughter's party and my daughter who saw it wanted to play with it right away...so I gave in and let her :) I received the Jacobean Red and Pink set from Oh Nelly to review on my blog for free for the Princess Tea Party Birthday Blog Carnival that I hosted for my daughter, Teela, on my blog in April. These tea sets are made of fabric and superbly sewn. They are great for pretend play and you never have to clean dishes after a tea party with it. My daughter, Teela, loved pretending to pour the tea into the fabric cups and sip the tea in a ladylike fashion. Along with a fabric teapot she received two fabric tea cups, two fabric saucers, and two fabric heart shaped cookies. This set will be a great heirloom to pass down.

Oh Nelly not only makes these great fabric tea sets, but other handmade things as well. Other things include: baby bibs, baby onesies, games, aprons, etc.

Road Trip

We are starting off on an adventure tomorrow. My family needs a break from all the stress and stuff has been happening lately. So, we are taking a road trip and bringing our camper pop-up tent trailer hitched to the back of our family van. Oh, and yes, the dog, Prince, is coming with :) Our plan is to go across country from Oregon to Ohio and then on to Massachusetts for a bit...then back again. All of this travel will be taking place for 22 days...so, expect me to be offline for most of that. I will be popping my head in a bit to check email and possibly blog a little...but don't expect much until I am back. We have scheduled this tour of sorts to see friends and family that otherwise couldn't come to my daughter's memorial service and to see all the sights along the way. It will also be a grand homeschooling/learning experience for my kids.

P&G's Thank You Mom Reunions Contest

My mother doesn't live that far away so I get to see her more often than a lot of people do their mothers. Above is a picture of her with my daughter, Teela, when my daughter was a newborn. My mom is wonderful and I am so very grateful she is around to help when things get stressful or just when I need her. I am comforted by her not just on the phone long distance, but since she only lives 3 hours from me she can visit. When my daughter, Teela, had her birthday party on the 9th of April she was there and when my daughter, Tatiana, passed away she was also there. I am glad we don't live too far away from each other. A while back I wrote about my mother and how she was there for my family and I...especially for my daughter Tatiana (I didn't mention there, but my dad had been just as helpful with her.). They both miss her just as much as we do because they got to know her quite a bit. I am very thankful to both my parents for all their help and support!!

Mother's Day is almost here and in celebration Proctor & Gamble is kicking off the "Thank You Mom Reunions" contest to reunite Moms and their children for milestone family moments they otherwise might have missed.

B-natal Review and Giveaway

Today I went to my doctor and got an ultrasound done. I got to see the baby for my first time and get the first ultrasound pictures. I am officially 16 weeks into my pregnancy and the baby's due date is October 20, 2010. The baby was being shy so I still do not know what gender the baby is. I bet you didn't know that I am expecting. I didn't divulge this information until now for many reasons. One being I had a miscarriage in August of 2009 and I wanted to make sure this pregnancy was going to be OK. I still hope that it is. I usually have morning sickness throughout my first trimester and a little in my second, which you know can strike at any time of day! I had treated it by sniffing lemons, eating snacks throughout the day...crackers are good, and now I know of another great remedy to use.

Available as a cherry-flavored TheraPop or green apple-flavored lozenge, B-natal products provide "sweet relief from morning sickness" with safe and soothing sugar and vitamin B6, which has been found to provide soothing relief of symptoms. Over 70% of pregnant women experience morning sickness associated with pregnancy. If you are pregnant and experiencing symptoms of morning sickness, B-natal products are probably right for you.

I received a sample of B-natal green apple-flavored lozenges to try. I have enjoyed them very much and they have helped greatly with my morning sickness. I love the green apple taste which makes them more enjoyable.
