I was given the opportunity to get, listen to, and then review the pre-release of Kenny Loggins' new CD All Join In. I was anxious to get it in the mail and give it a listen because I really enjoyed his album 'Return to Pooh Corner' and 'More Songs from Pooh Corner'. I love music that is wholesome and great for kids as well as adults and this CD was just that.
The first song, Underneath the Same Sky, is from the album and movie Tigger & Pooh and a Musical Too of the animated TV series from Playhouse Disney, My Friends Tigger and Pooh. Its lyrics sort of remind me of the song Somewhere Out There from the animated movie An American Tail. Both songs tell that even though we are far apart we are underneath the same sky and feel closer together because of this. I love the harmonica in this one. Here is the Kenny Loggins - Underneath The Same Sky Music Video.
The next song, All Together Now, is one you've probably heard sung by the Beatles, John Lennon and Paul McCartney in the movie Yellow Submarine. This is Kenny Loggins fun take on the Beatles' classic.
The third song, You Got A Friend In Me, is Randy Newman's theme for Disney's animated movie Toy Story. No offense to Randy Newman, but I like Kenny's vocals better on this one. Just my opinion though.
The forth song, Two Of Us, is another Beatles song you have probably heard sung by John Lennon and Paul McCartney. Kenny got to sing it with his pal Jimmy Messina who he hadn't sung with in 30 years on a record. Well overdue I would say!
The fifth song, Come Go With Me, is a "Doo-Wop" song sung by the Del Vikings before my time. Even though this song was before my time I often heard it while sitting in the backseat of my parents car when I was little. It is an oldie, but a goodie! Kenny sings it well :)
The sixth song, There Is a Mountain, is an upbeat catchy song. I love the great imagery in it where the caterpillar turns into a butterfly. Kenny sings with his youngest daughter of just 11 years, Hana. Here is the Kenny Loggins - There Is A Mountain Music Video. Here is
the making of There Is A Mountain Music Video.
The seventh song, The Puppy Song, gives a voice to children everywhere that have ever wanted a dog. Kenny sings this with his daughter, Bella.
The eighth song, You Can All Join In, is a great upbeat song that you really want to clap to. It is where Kenny got the title of this album. Kenny Loggins is appropriately joined by the song's writer and former Traffic member, Dave Mason.
The ninth song, Gandhi/Buddha, is written and originally sung by Cheryl Wheeler. Kenny intends this to be a song sung about the feelings of parents for their children...as it says in the song, "I must have done something right to get to have you.". This song could be interpreted different ways, just try to see it as Kenny intended it.
The tenth song, Long Tailed Cat, is a song written by Kenny and is featuring Leon Russell and Kenny's sons, Cody and Luke. It has a Dixie feel to it and a great New Orleans beat.
The eleventh song, Your Lollipop, is based heavily upon the 2007 hit song, "Lollipop" by Mika. It is sung on this album by Kenny and a nine year old named Matthew Schaeman. This song has a great way of getting stuck in ones head!
The twelfth song, Moose 'n Me, is written by Kenny and is a heartwarming song about his first dog. In the background his eldest son Crosby scats and does some solo work throughout the song.
The thirteenth song, 1234, is writen by Leslie Feist and Sally Saltmann. I love this song and Kenny does a great version with his daughter Hana singing while jumping rope! On a slightly different note I have to share the Feist Sesame Street version with you because it is also very fun!
If you go here you can print some things for the kids to color and some All Join In bookmarks.
All Join In is not available to purchase until 12/28/2009 (according to Walmart). In the meantime put it on your wishlist and go listen to some of the songs on the album all the way through.
Kenny Loggins and his musical partner Jim Messina will embark on a national tour August 20.
For the latest news, tour dates and info check out KennyLoggins.com, Facebook and Twitter.

Skin Free Review and Giveaway
Skin Free is a company that boasts that their skin care products: are all natural, have vegan ingredients, no perfumes, no petroleum products, no harmful chemicals, no steroids, no colorants, no greasy feeling, no animal testing, and are cruelty free. Their products are recommended for individuals with: extreme dry skin, skin or fragrance allergies, psoriasis, dermatitis, and / or eczema.
I love exfoliating scrubs and body butters so I picked their Skin Renewal System to test and review. It includes their Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub and their Whipped Tamanu Body Butter.
I tried the Sweet & Smooth Sugar Scrub first which was placed in a clear plastic bag for shipment. I was happy that this was done because it had leaked oil out of the container and into the bag instead of all over the box it came in. I decided to store it in the refrigerator because it looked like the contents were melting and separating. Once I decided to try it out it was a hot day and even though there was still an extra step to mix it together that it doesn't have in the directions it felt really good on my face. The chilled mix of sugar, olive oil, sweet almond oil, glycerin, and Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate (a preservative that is used in small quantities and so shouldn't irritate your skin) was invigorating. It polished my skin deep down smoothing away any imperfections and dull, dry skin. Besides the face it can be used on the rest of the body, especially the hands for an instant manicure and rough areas of the elbows or feet.
The Tamanu Body Butter has distilled spring water, shea butter, tamanu oil, olive oil, sweet almond oil, emulsifying wax, stearic acid (a waxy solid made from vegetable fats and oils), essential oils of grapefruit and geranium, and Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate (a preservative that is used in small quantities and so shouldn't irritate your skin). It smells very distinctly of the geranium essential oil. So, if you don't like flowery smells or are allergic just take that into account. My son, Jaedan, is apparently allergic because when my husband and I tried the body butter he started sneezing nonstop until he left the room where we were. Regardless of that little setback my husband and I really liked the Tamanu Body Butter although maybe they could have had two varieties of Tamanu Body Butter...one with the geranium and one without. Tamanu is a plant that Polynesians prize for its healing and protective properties. The oil is used by them for everything from minor abrasions to severe sunburn and major skin infections. Tamanu oil has a unique fatty acid called calophyllic acid that stimulates cell growth. It also contains calophyllolide which has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The Tamanu Body Butter felt very nice going on my skin and rubbed in well. It made my skin extra soft and it felt as though it was smoothing out my laugh lines on my face.
I felt as though I was at a spa having a relaxing treatment done when using these products!

Read and Share Toddler Bible retold by Gwen Ellis Review
The Read and Share Toddler Bible has a DVD with it and both are geared towards kids ages 1-4 years. Both have very cute and colorful illustrations / animations by Steve Smallman. The book has 40 stories from both the Old Testament (25) and New Testament (15). The DVD has 14 short 3 minute stories that are supposed to hold your toddlers attention. Three minutes is perfect because my daughter, Teela, who is 16 months is too wiggly to sit still for very much longer. Even my eight and seven year old boys enjoyed reading the stories themselves to my daughters from the book. The only thing that I did not like about the book is that you cannot read it along with the DVD, as I first thought, because the book has different wording than the DVD. The DVD doesn't help teach word recognition skills.
Both book and DVD are designed with toddlers in mind. The book has simple, catchy words that toddlers can understand and enjoy. My daughter is a little young to grasp a few of the concepts just yet but she will soon learn what they all mean. At the end of each chapter there is an interactive activity that helps parents to reinforce the stories. All in all I thought this book and DVD was very cute and that they both taught little ones well of the teachings of the bible. At $11-$15 it is worth getting for your little ones book shelf!
I am a Thomas Nelson Book Review Blogger and I thank them for providing me with this book to review.

Wedding Belle Favors Review
If you are searching for the perfect wedding or bridal shower favors look no further. Wedding Belle Favors has a great selection and their website is very easy to navigate. Select by theme, use, or season. They also have favors for baby shower and corporate events as well.
The only thing I didn't like was that there are no actual prices for the products on the website and when you try and order from them it usually goes to many different wedding websites...so I don't know how ordering different things and having them shipped together would work, but maybe it does.
I received a coconut shell candle to try out and boy is it heavenly smelling! These are great for a beach themed party or wedding! These 100% soy wax and cotton wick candles are formed in real coconut shells. They have an ivory color and coconut scent and you can pick from many different ways to wrap them. I received mine in clear cellophane with a pink ribbon.
I also love these favors from their store: Hibiscus Favor Boxes, all the tea-themed favors...esp. the Island Coconut Tea Tin!

Tatiana's New Stroller
My five year old daughter, Tatiana, is multiply disabled and developmentally delayed. She has Cerebral Palsy and is totally blind among a lot of other things. She has a beautiful spirit and loves giving out her hugs and kisses. She is an inspiration to me because of just how much love and happiness she has to give despite all the terrible things that have happened to her.
We are still working on getting her mobile on her own, but for now she is wheelchair and stroller bound. She has grown so much that we just got new Ankle Foot Orthotics (AFOs) for her from Shriners on the 7th and not long ago got her wheelchair redone and adjusted to her with a new seat, seat back, and lateral supports. Today she just got a new Axiom 1.5 Dreamer Design Mobility Push Chair jogging stroller in navy blue with optional swivel wheel Axis kit, all-weather cover, and tire pump. It is the Cadillac of strollers, especially for special needs kids! We used her old jogging stroller a lot more than her wheelchair because of easier fold-ability. The Axiom seems to have a lot more parts to fold or unfold but now that I know how to fold and unfold it seems pretty straight forward so we will opt to take this with us on trips more than the wheelchair for now. She has a lot of growing room in it because it can hold up to 100 pounds and as you can see we need to adjust the foot wells to the highest position too.
Speaking of trips and her growing...we have been looking for a wheelchair accessible bus that will suit our needs and wants. Tatiana is growing and I am petite so this is making it more and more difficult for me to lift her from her stroller or wheelchair into her car seat in our van. Since we found out that our 2006 van cannot be equipped with a ramp because it is too old a body style and it is still possible that our family might grow larger, even though I just had a miscarriage, we are instead looking into an accessible bus. We need one that can accommodate our growing family...so room for 6 plus (preferably 8 or more seats plus a wheelchair spot but not more than 15 seats because then we would have to get a CDL license). We would like it to have a co-pilot's seat so that I can sit by my husband when he is driving. We think that diesel is the way to go for a bus because of less wear and tear on the engine. Once we get it we are thinking about fitting it with a tow package so that we can tow a trailer, boat, RV, etc. My husband wants to get fog lights and maybe a snow plow for the front of it in the winter months. We were also wanting to get dolphins airbrushed on the sides :) My parents think we are hippies.

Favors by Lisa Review
If you are having a bridal shower, wedding, baby shower, baby blessing, baby christening, religious celebration, corporate party, or anniversary soon or know someone who is you should really check out Favors by Lisa. They specialize in a vast array of favors for almost every occasion. In their sale section I even saw Christmas favors too. They also have jewelry and fancy packaging to put it all into.
I received a lovely hand woven buri fan. These paddle fans are a must for a hot summer-time event. I tried it out and it fans wonderfully and is very well made! These are eco-friendly because they are made from the leaves of the buri palm and intricately woven into a beautiful fan.
Some other things I love from their shop are dolphin place card holders, Pearlized Glass Starfish, Shell Favor Box, and the Guylian's Chocolate Seashells! As you probably know I love dolphins and the ocean :)

I Was With Child
I feel I need to share this with you. Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 I miscarried. I know not how far along I was in my pregnancy and did not officially know I was pregnant. A couple days at least before Tuesday I started what I thought was a very late period. Since I am still breastfeeding my youngest I thought that this was just an irregular period. Then on Tuesday I knew there was something dreadfully wrong. I was bleeding and cramping way too much. Teela, my youngest, didn't know what was going on and was trying to comfort me by hugging me and being with me. I called my mother, my husband, and then the ambulance. The ambulance took me to the ER after my husband soon arrived to watch our kids. Once the ambulance arrived I was not cramping any more. I do not know if it was the Ibuprofen, I took in the morning when the cramps started getting bad, that had finally kicked in or something else had happened to lessen them.
At the ER they did all kinds of tests on me. They did a pregnancy test and it was positive. They did a blood test to rule out infections and anemia...none were found. They did an ultrasound to rule out an ectopic pregnancy and found no fetus; although, they did say that the uterine lining was thick like it was supposed to be while pregnant. Then they pronounced it an incomplete miscarriage (spontaneous abortion) and sent me home saying that I needed to get a check up with my doctor in a few days so that he could check and make sure I wouldn't be needing a D&C (dilation and curettage). Thankfully my doctor said I didn't need one. Still it was all emotionally and physically taxing.
At that point a lot of things were gong through my mind...maybe I shouldn't have taken that Ibuprofen, maybe I shouldn't have been lifting my five year old disabled daughter or my one and a half year old daughter, maybe I shouldn't been drinking all that caffeine, maybe I should have checked right away if I was pregnant after missing possibly one to two periods... The list went on in my head of maybes. But it was done and lingering on the ifs and maybes will just drive a person mad. So, instead I turned my thoughts to God. This miscarriage was one of many challenges and obstacles that I have had and will continue to overcome. Life is precious, but this life that was lost to me is now in heaven with God. It must have been so pure in spirit that it only needed just moments in the womb to live. I am happy I got to have this challenge as it has just made me stronger. I hope the challenges and obstacles that you face in life also make you stronger and that you too can overcome!

Je’Marie Scarlett Review and Giveaway
The Je’Marie Scarlett is a fashionable and practical accessory for your purse or handbag. It clips on easily to your bag with a lobster claw hook and is made from micro fiber Poly-Lycra that is wonderful to clean glasses, sunglasses, laptop screens, camera lenses, your cell phone, Personal Digital Assistant (PDA), iPod, etc. It won't scratch up the surfaces like other things will and is great at dressing up your bag to match your dress or your mood. With the Scarlett even my camera bag or luggage can accessorize :)
I received the zebra Scarlett to match my FUMI. There are many other designs to choose from and they cost $10.95 each. For $14.95 more you can also add FUMI charms to them to make them even better.
Win it! Natascha at Je'Marie is giving one lucky reader a Scarlett of their choice.
